María del Rey has a beautiful voice and the men and children reciting poetry are refreshing. I am an educator who plans to raise my children bilingually and I find this CD to be an excellent addition to my collection of music in Spanish. As a native speaker of English who has learned Spanish to near-native ability, I am happy to have as many resources in Spanish as possible and look forward to singing and sharing these songs/rhymes (esp. the Spanish versions) with my child. While my baby has not yet arrived (he's on the way!) and I can't say what will put him to sleep, I disagree with several that have said the poetry and speaking by children and a man are disrupting. ... On the Good Ship LollipopCD-Charts > Music > Music for Little People by: The Persuasions Release Date May 18, 1999 I checked this cd out from the library for my kids (6 1/2 & 3 1/2) and now I am going to purchase a copy for ourselves. Not only did they enjoy it, but I did as well. I initially checked it out for the Teddy Bear's Picnic song, but I was very happy to see that every single track on the record was excellent. Our favorite has become the song about their band and how they sing A-Cappella and their voices are their instruments. I can't say enough good things about this cd and these singers/songs. LOVE IT! |
A Child's Celebration of Rock 'n' RollCD-Charts > Music > Music for Little People by: Various Artists Release Date January 30, 1996 I loved this C.D. it has all the songs that my Mom and I listened too, my kids didn't like it so much, they only like 1-2 songs on the whole disk, I guess I am starting to get out dated with the new generation, my children are only 4 and almost 6 and I thought they would love all the catchy music, but not so. |
A Child's Celebration of Classical MusicCD-Charts > Music > Music for Little People by: Various Artists Release Date July 06, 1999 This is definitely not what I expected in a classical music tape, but still a surprisingly enjoyable to listen to. I bought it for my 4 year old who loves to listen to what he calls "kid's songs" and hoped that it wouldn't totally annoy my older children. This one is a winner, though, ALL the kids (ages 2 to 11) really like it. Bobby McFerrin's Music Box is really quite amazing and you appreciate his talent the more you listen to it (although I would never have guessed this was classical music.) The water music rendition is equally fun. My only complaint is that Gerald McBoing is waaaay too long, but still it fascinated the kids so I guess it's worth it! The variety of music contained on the tape keeps it fresh. |
All You Need Is Love: Beatles Songs for KidsCD-Charts > Music > Music for Little People by: Various Artists Release Date August 31, 1999 I bought this cd for my two-year-old daugther since her dad and I are both big Beatles fans in hopes of exposing her to them at an early age. Don't bother! Just play a real Beatles cd for your kids. It wouldn't be so bad if the kids just sang, but they're trying to sound like professional singers instead of just kids having a good time. Excruciating to listen to. The only song I can sit through is Raffi's rendition of Octopus' Garden. My daughter doesn't like to listen to it either. |
