I LOVE this record.There's not one track thats not perfect.The way the music wraps around the next song,or the way the music changes into something you don't expect,reminds me alot of the Beatles "Abby Road."
I haven't enjoyed a CD like this in YEARS.Its my first ColdPlay one,and I'm going to get the rest of there albums after listening to "Viva La Vida."

I was a bit skeptical about getting this album because let's be honest, T.I. Vs T.I.P was a suspect album to say the least. T.I. soullessly mumbling through a whole album(which is what he did on that album) is something I just dont dig. But this album is a lot better than I expected it to be. I'm Illy, 56 Bars showcase T.I. lyrically skills which bring you back to the Trap Musik/Urban Legend days. Whatever You Like is a catchy single even though it's kind of corny, I'll admit I like it. My Life, Your Entertainment with Usher is T.I. explaining evertyhing he goes through as a superstar. Something Else

Oookaayyyy, if Thicke wanted to give us "something else", then why did he give us this recycled soul/rock/disco sound from the 60s & 70s? When the lead single "Magic" came out, its retro sound was my red flag because I was expecting some fresh contemporary urban/soul. But "Magic" was getting pushed so much on the adult contemporary stations in my city, I admit I grew to like it. Plus I figured this and maybe couple more would be the only 'retro' songs and I'd be cool with that. But once I heard the entire CD, my suspicions were confirmed. Don't get me wrong, if folks are feeling the retro sound, hey, get your stone cold groove on. But I was expecting "something else" completely different so I'm not biting on this one...

Unless I'm mistaken, seems Jackson Browne has settled into a happy enough domestic life to allow his "Everyman" to ever-blossom. I remember reading an interview with JB, must have been about the time of "World In Motion", in which the interviewer asked him what's up with the preponderance of political songs, and Jackson replied, "Politics is what we eat for breakfast!" And how true. And though the imperiled state of our country and world obviously factors highly in his current songwriting, still Jackson Browne's huge heart shines carefully through every note and word.

Loved the first two records but even 'Because Of the Times' was beginning to show signs of 'rockstars for Pepsi' tendencies (as Bill Hicks would have put it).

More importantly though, just what can you do if your sex is on fire?

1. Remove all flammable materials from the area.

2. Have a fire extinguisher handy.

3. Roll around on the ground, just like Caleb does in the video.

4. A cold shower will work (on two levels).

5. Maybe you should have considered a flame retardant lube beforehand?

6. If this is a recurring problem for you, abstinence may be the only way to go, sorry.

Break Up the Concrete

If your a huge Pretenders fan, than I suppose this album will do. However if you were just going to take a chance on this album out of curiosity, then I suggest you spend your money on another choice. I found it very unimaginitive and very bland. Nothing stands out. I thought the writing was really low rate. There are a few ok songs, but the majority of the offerings are not even up to ok. I write this brief review to save others from my mistake of giving this album a chance. It didn't work for me, and no one I've played it for like it either.

Well I am a Ne-yo supporter. He is without a doubt a great songwriter, a little better than average performer and although I enjoyed particular songs on this release, collectively the album just didn't have the flow that his previous releases. I think the first was good, second was great and this is back to good. I really enjoyed album 2 Because of you it just had so much momentum. Year of the Gentlemen starts off with a kick, but then has momemts when it drags and then picks back up and not just because the songs were slower in pace.
