Rise Against is really going to blow up big with this release, as well they should. Through the years, their songwriting has only improved as they found the sound they were searching for. Lots of people may dismiss this album as Rise Against going "soft" or going "pop". I strongly disagree, as the lyrics and execution of the songs are much more talented and ingenious than almost anything else that could grace the airwaves this year. This album has fantastic production value and only gets better with each listen. Their updated sound has much less screaming, yet doesn't lose any of the intensity of their previous releases, and Rise Against has basically shown that no matter what approach they take, they aren't going to fade anytime soon.

As some reviewers have pointed out, this album might be a disappointment for those who are deeply in love with the 90's Ani.
It's much like To The Teeth, Revelling/Reckoning, Knuckledown or Reprieve (specially very similar to this one), but actually a lot more future-oriented, sonically fairly innovative, tight and song-by-song perfectly crafted.
I'd like to say which songs are my favourites, but.. I can't mention none in particular.
I love The Atom, Emancipated Minor, and the three first: Red Letter Year, Alla This and Present/Infant. But all the songs of this excellent album are truly standouts.

To the point, like has already been said, I had no idea this would be a raw footage DVD, which will require some adjusting to, especially since Budokan and Score spoiled me so thoroughly.

Also, James Labrie's singing was just...off! I totally loved Blind Faith (Six Degrees was my first DT album), but I found myself wincing every time he hit the high note in the hook. That's my main complaint really, he's great so long as he stays in the mid to low range. I'm really sorry about his throat injury from years past, but it seems like it's still plagues him. I sincerely hope he overcomes this.

FOURPLAY- - - Not Bob James!!!!
Please disregard Robert G. Raynor Jr.'s Uninformed Review. This is a FOURPLAY CD and none other. I own a full collection of both artists unlike this very sarcastic reviewer who doesn't even know that there is NOT a Bob James album called "Taxi". He's got to be referring to a CD entitled "All Around Town from 1995"; Bob is on the cover in a "taxi-cab"!!! PLEASE!!!!
Back to the real issue; this is a great CD on it's own merit, with a great groove,it's ultra smooth. It's like all FOURPLAY CD's "Great Smooth JAZZ, you can't go wrong with them. This is relaxing jazz with just enough grove to keep you interested, I really loved the 1st track: Fortune Teller, all the way to the last track: Sebastian...(which is the name of my dog);- who ... But the quality of Oberst's music and lyrics has gone seriously down hill the past few years. Not to say this is an absolutely horrible album, but the guy is clearly capable of better than is delievered here.
