I don't understand all the negative reviews. The album title and description say it all. The sound is good, the performances are good. Six of the songs are previously unreleased, half of the others I had never heard before. I compare this to the Duane Allman anthologies, you hear him as a backing musician on some tunes. Hearing Albert Collins and Bonnie Rait on songs with Stevie sure sounds good to me. Buy it and enjoy.

And when I got "Son Of" it is great. Bronx in Blue should be played in every school to educate our children about blues roots music. Of course, the original artists are great , however, I can understand Dion's interpretation and his performance is energizing. This is not 'sit-down'
music! He deserved the Grammy...

After KWS put on a fantastic show at a fest, I had to buy his first 3 albums. Now I know why is rated one of the best guitarists. I rate him up there with Eric Clapton. This CD is a must buy.

After "Lie To Me", I thought I would buy anything this artist put out. 3 albums later, I'm regretting that decision. It started with this title. Did that trip to Memphis make him think he's Al Green? Did his guitar fall down and it can't get up? Is he only a 6 string stud in the studio with a lot of help from the engineers and timed tracking? I honestly don't get it. As utterly IMPRESSIVE and AMAZING as "Lie" was, subsequent releases have only put me to sleep. Forced blue-eyed soul ain't doing it for me. Stax/Volt is out of business and the Staple Singers aren't holding auditions. I don't want to be unkind because anyone who can cut the very best version of "Matchbox" will always have a home in my heart but in the words of the immortal Frank ... Read More:

This review was accidentally placed on the wrong CD (Best of Zucchero), but it rightfully goes with this CD (Zucchero and Co.)! (please forgive) (However,The Best of Zucchero is also ONE GREAT CD and is highly recommended !)
Well, if you love the blues, or an updated/different version thereof, and if you love love songs, you will love this CD ! Whether you can speak Italian or not, who cares...they are love songs, make up your own words ! lol I bought this CD just for one song, Cosi Celeste (she's my baby) but have fallen in love with the entire CD...and Zucchero too I might add ! I discovered him through my love of Cheb Mami and wanted She's My Baby done by both of them, hence this CD was purchased. That song is mesmerizing and Cheb's voice is ... Read More:

I had been looking for a good compilation of Freddie's music for a while. This one does the trick! This really is the best of his earlier work!

So sorry I have just discovered this phenomenal talent and now you are gone. Recently heard your music on Sirius and sought this CD, then heard your sad story. This CD is truly fabulous and sad at the same time, track 8 "Going Home" is what it's all about here, you can hear it in his voice. But the whole CD is so incredibly great, bluesy, rockin', raw....GREAT! This one is in the CD player and won't be coming out anytime soon. I've played it for many friends and everyone agrees, he was one of our greatest lost treasures.
Release Date July 29, 1997
Live At Carnegie Hall was recorded on October 4, 1984 (one day after Stevie's thirtieth birthday), and is a highlight of Stevie's early days with his band, Double Trouble. There are also guest appearances by John Hammond, Jimmie Vaughan, Dr. John, vocalist Angela Strehli (who sings an enthusiastic lead vocal on C.O.D.), and the Roomful Of Blues horn section. The performance is an intimate, but rousing, blues celebration of Stevie's birthday. At the end of the night, Stevie says, "Thank you very much for making this my best birthday ever...forever!". Musically, you couldn't ask for better. The sound and production are smart, and the performances are clean and inspired (that's an understatement on some of the songs!). The absolute best recording ever of Cold Shot ... Read More:

I love Buddy Guy, his falsetto voice, his guitar tone, his mellow pickin', his frenzied shreddin', it's all here too! The songs are few, but long and let him stretch out and wear it out! This was his first solo endeavor and it's totally raw and rockin'! I listen to it everyday! Get all his stuff, it's eclectic from acoustic blues to psychedelic rock, he's the coolest!
