Susan Tedeschi, a singer of the blues with a Janis Joplin feel. Tedeschi has risen up the ranks by hard work and a formal education in music, resulting in multi Grammy Award Nominations. This live performance at 'Austin City Limits' reveals her versatility and enthusiasm as she sings from her heart. The voice of Susan Tedeschi has been described as "a blend of Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin." This CD is well worth adding to your collection.

I am a huge BLUES fan, but it is hard to find in my area, so I buy a lot of "BLUES" CDs. Although Keb" Mo is probably one of my favorites, I have played the Etta James CD all the way to work and back (60miles/day) every day since I received it from Amazon, and still not tired of her rich voice.

This is an excellent career overview of an artist who dances to his own drummer. If you like something different from what you hear most of the time from artists that have a loose association with Nashville, this is music you will enjoy for a lifetime. The (*) is for the fact that Delbert released a couple of albums to attempt to reach a wider audience and if you are so inclined you should also purchase "Never Been Rocked Enough" to fully appreciate both sides of Delbert with no overlap. Very enjoyable listening all around.

I first saw Walter Trout when he was playing with Coco Montoya in John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. He blew my mind! This CD is full of smokin' red-hot guitar leads and is excellent all-around. I can't believe I waited several years to buy it! Well worth it!!

This CD is one of my top 10! It's so organic and raw, but it's rock, blues, psychadelic, you name it! Buddy sings so great, shreds, lets it all hang out. He talks the band through some of the changes, he's talkin' to the engineer and they just leave it in. I love it, it's like we were in the control room watchin' 'em lay it down. And the opener "Done Got Old," on acoustic guitar is too cool! Get it, get it, get it!

Great record, a must for any blues/rock lover. Johnny bridges the gap between blues and 70's rock and roll. My favorites are Tribute to Muddy (the best on the LP), Help Me, Got love if You Want it, and Fourty Four. Special mention to Mean Town Blues, which he nails.
Not the best recording quality, but I can just see JW tearing into his Fender XII with the six string set up.

This is the best CD I've purchased in a very long time. Mr. Cray provides us with low blues, high blues, soft blues and hard blues. His voice is perfect for this music and his playing, well, there are no words to describe that. I have had this disc in my car's player since I bought it and have listened to nothing else. I sing with Bob but I'm glad he can't hear me.

Debbie Davies has released many CDs over the years, but this one clearly stands out. Often these types of CDs, which involve a 'Who's Who' of contemporary blues artists, do not live up to expectations -- this one is definitely an exception. Put Davies together with Musselwhite, Benoit, and Montoya and sparks fly. Debbie wrote 4 of the 9 songs, while the rest are covers. The 'A.C. Strut' with Coco Montoya is a tribute to Debbie's mentor, Albert Colins, and it really rocks. Listen to Musselwhite on 'Movin' and Groovin' and you will soon understand why he is often referred to as "the Dean of Blues Harmonica" -- outstanding. Tab does a great rendition of Hooker's 'Crawling King Snake' with his Louisiana swamp style, as he is joined by Debbie. On 'Sonoma Sunset,' ... Read More:

Several years ago I went to a Bonnie Raitt concert (had great seats) and the pre-show performer was Keb Mo. I had never heard him or his music, but I had met Bonnie back in the early 70's and was so looking forward to seeing her and listening to her set. When Keb Mo came on stage...a stool and an acustic guitar, I had no idea what I was in for! Unbelievable guitarist and that voice...WOW! I didn't want it to end. I have since purchased most of his CDs and go see every performance I can! He is the best folk type blues musician in today's world. This CD is one of his best, everything from humor to spiritual to just good 'ole "sitting of the front porch" blues. Highly recommend this CD for anyone who enjoys music without all the "technology" that often gets ... Read More:
