Let me preface my remarks by saying that most of the negative reviews here were written by people who were expecting lots of concert footage. I read the label and online description and received exactly what I expected. Some people will give blue a bad review for failing to be red, but Frank Zappa: Apostrophe / Over-Nite Sensation is just what it claims to be.

I got into Zappa while in high school in the late 70's and early 80's. I studied music and still play, but as much as I drifted through various styles and interests, FZs music always stuck and held a special place in my music library. I recall seeing him in concert in 1982 - mind-blowing.

I just recently learned of this album, and have listened to it several times in the last few days, and am playing it now. I can't get enough of it. It's catchy as hell, fun, creative, and it rocks. What more can you want? While the songs are not without tension, it imparts to me a feeling of bliss like a carefree summer day, with its often breezy melodies and laid-back, jazzy instrumentation.

The only other BBS album I've heard so far is Feel Good Lost, which is nothing like this at all. I found that one to be on the boring/monotonous side, with very few vocals, so I would not be surprised that You Forgot It In People is an aberration like has been said in reviews here. CD has a good selection of songs, particularly for a formal wedding; however the last 5 songs on my CD were garbled so I can't evaluate those.
Worth the money, and I would buy again (hoping that the entire CD was clear and easy to understand.

This is one of my favorite Carlin's and I was lucky enough to see him live performing most of this material. I love the place for my stuff monologue "going up in the airplane looking down at all the little places full of stuff." The fussy eater always reminded me of things my mother said and along the way George interjects his hilarious "announcements."

Along with Class Clown and Toledo Window Box, this is one of the best early Carlin discs to get!
