Geez where do you start? I was already a longtime Zappa fan when this came around. Frank took another twisted turn and I took it with him. For the purists this may be a little too funny and a little too popular, but I think that was as much FZ as the deep love of do wop, Edgar Varese and other bizarre musical forms. Yeah, I know it is very approachable and some hate it for that but there it is. You should get the heavier FZ stuff as well, but this is always fun treat sort of like desert at the end of a great meal.
The reviewer "childhood distorted..." did make me realize that all of Zappa's music is like a Zen koan, shocking the mind into awareness. FZ I am sure would find that last sentence very funny. Great album!!!!

There are a couple songs that may take some time to win you over (I'm thinking of "Pancreas" and "Weasel Stomping Day" in particular) but even so, this is a fairly solid album from the paragon of parody. It's not the instant classic that some of his other albums were (such as "Even Worse" or "Off the Deep End") but it does eventually work its way under your skin. You'll find yourself humming sections of "Trapped In The Drive-Thru" while you're waiting "at the pay window, ... or whatever you call it."

Fascinating and unique album that topped Pitchfork's list of the greatest albums of the 70's. I don't rate it quite that highly, but it remains Bowie's masterpiece, even as marked a departure from the sound, texture, and attitude of much of his earlier work. Bowie shows a largeness of spirit in his ability to work with and through Brian Eno, and Eno shows that he is comfortable in a supporting role; the album could not have been made without Eno, but the credit belongs to Bowie. The vocal tracks are uniformly strong, and two of them, the shimmering "Sound and Vision" and the warped, disembodied "Always Crashing in the Same Car" are truly classic. I was a little torn about whether to purchase this box set. I already own many of the cuts. But there are so many great songs from the time when I was a huge Motown fan that I decided to get it. Putting all the hits (and not just the most familiar) together makes for a fun collection. It is great to listen to while at work or on the road.

I bought this DVD on a recommendation. I watched it and it didnn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It is not an interactive program that guides you through the set up of a new TV. Maybe if you are an installer you might get more out of this than I did. I cannot recommend this as being essential to set up a new TV. I found that the settings that others had suggested on product specific web sites were much more helpful and my TV looks great. I did not use this DVD for anything. If you are considering buying it, let me know I'll sell you my copy.

this collection would be refuse.
Timbaland is a joke. I don't like the way Björk has travelled here.
Be it not for her voice, and the two tunes mentioned, this LP would receive 1 star.
