This DVD is one of the longer ones for beginners (It says 71 minutes but I think its only 60 minutes worth of instruction.) And there is a bonus music CD too.

First, there is a stretching section. Next comes the teachig section, each bellydance step is paired with a lesson on different kinds of drum beats by the male drummer. (I haven't heard this information anywhere else. Important if you get deep enough into this dance style)

The second half of the video teaches a choreography. And it's broken down very well. Each step you learn is taught along with the next step so that you learn how to transition from one move to the next. Requiem: Fortissimo

Truly outstanding release from this very talented band that I am just getting to know. Mezzo Forte was my first Virgin Black purchase, and it has hardly left my CD player since I bought it. Fortissimo is at least the equal of mezzo forte, if not better. I actually prefer the heavier style most of the time, and the raw emotion felt here throughout the record is exceptional.

I loved Arabesque and Arabian Travels, but this is not trance. This is more like Arabian pop music. The vocals are irritating to me. Sting even shows up on one track. If you are looking for world trance, or something to chill out or relax to, forget this one.

I love this CD!!! I don't speak Arabic, so it was great that the CD came with English translations! I love Nancy's voice in ALL of the songs, and the music makes me want to move- I bellydance, so I would also recommend this CD for those who want to dance to her songs! Aside from being inexpensive, the shipment was fast (about 3 days?)...I'm buying another one from Amazon!

I know nothing about traditional Persian music. I heard of this album through a friend of mine. I was hooked after the first listen.
Master Shahram Nazeri's vocals are so full of passion and conviction. He moves me each time I hear his voice. He has one of those truly unforgettable voices.
I ordered a copy of "The Passion of Rumi" with the expectation that I would like it,but was pleasantly surprised when I heard the entire album. After listening to it in its entirity, I fell in love with the muscial aspect of the album as well. The vocals and musical artistry are a perfect combination and complement.
I found myself listening to it over and over and loving it even more so the next time around.

This CD is to authentic world music what smooth jazz is to jazz. Somewhat palatable and skilled, while nearly devoid of soul and art.

Redeemed from a wholly negative review by the beautiful "Raindrops," which has everything the rest of the album lacks.

To begin with this was a birthday gift from my brother who knows that I love
reggae and specially in other languaje, (french), also the cover and the inside pictures are great, it makes me feel like I'm with Alpha.
Also the meaning of the songs try to give us a positive message on every day live.
