I bought the CD some time ago. I actually did not much about the singer/musician, just got heard from my family members that his songs are cool.

Yes, it is! I love this album. Although the majority of the songs are instrumental, but the songs are beautifully arranged and orchestrated.

I enjoy most chanting 'works' across the board, but I cannot recommend this one. You should only buy after you have sampled the CD because this one is not that great. It probably does excite historians and some intellectuals but purchase with caution. It won't be missed.

HOSSAM RAMZY IS A MASTER OF PLAYING NATIVE MIDDLE EASTERN PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS. THIS WHOLE CD IS ALL PERCUSSION, NO HORNS, STRIINGS, OR ANYTHING ELSE. IT IS RAW, PRIMITIVE MUSIC, AND IT IS GREAT. I AM NOT A BELLY DANCER, SO I DON'T KLNOW HOW IT STACKS UP AGAINST OTHER BELLY DANCING MUSIC, BUT I ENJOY HEARING THIS MUSIC. This CD flies under false pretenses. These are not duos which imply two equal instruments. They are violin pieces with a guitar accompaniment in the background. It is fine music, but I have heard prefomances in person in which the guitar had a bigger role.
