My sister had this cd for her own baby and my daughter went right to sleep when she heard it. i had to get home and purchase it. also got the Cure one which is great. i can sit and rock baby and STILL listen to my favorite songs! i hum a long so its doubly relaxing for her. These cd's are so clever and such a great idea. A 'must purchase' for shower gift.

almost indistinguishable johnny cash songs, one bleeding into the next, with a plinky plodding sound that maybe babies like, but I sure don't. If someone somewhere along the way had just said, "hey, what if we actually tried to make these sound good instead of just cashing in on the obvious market for this cd", they could have
saved all this wasted potential.

I agree with another reviewer in the fact that the birds chirping can be distracting; it would get my son's attention instead of luring him to relax. When he was placed in the crib half asleep he would open his eyes wide open when he would hear a bird, and would try to look where the sound came from. There is another part that sounds like a whistle (another bird), and is constant through one song. But he got used to it (it may have taken a couple of weeks) and he is quite happy with it now.

There are other songs that have night sounds, is not all birds. This is the only CD I could stand listening to over and over again. To me, it is very relaxing.
