This is a very good CD and I love to hear Mark's voice alone and not his comedic side all of the time. I think he was at his very best with the Gaither Vocal Band however. Such a pure voice and seemingly effortless to the listener.

One of the main reasons I bought this cd was when I was a teen in church back in the Bronx,N.Y., our chior used to sing these same songs, and some years later, I discovered a cassette at my parent's home and it just brought back the memories. I recently bought this cd and Love Alive 2 since they bring back great memories, and I tell you, they are truly some of the very best gospel albums out there of all time. It makes you want to raise your hands in the air and give God the praise. Worth the listen and brings back good memories.

Mighty Long Way

This is an album that is long in proportion to Joe Pace's last project as it is a double CD.
Both CD's have their own highlights, but the first CD in particulaer is the one that has many of the songs that Pace had on his last album "Sunday Morning Service". These songs include "Enter In" and "High and Lifted Up".

A good album if you're a Joe Pace fan; if you've never heard of him listen to his last projects and "Mighty Long Way" will be worth the wait...

I loved this CD...[slow in getting it but nevertheless], his song "Your Glory" literally woke me up out of my sleep. The alarm alone couldnt do it :) - and I woke up feeling so blessed by his song.

If you love the dvd of this show, buy this cd! The sound is great! Sing Along Song is my favorite track on here, but every song is a lot of fun to listen to!

I cannot praise this recording highly enough - "Peace Be Still" is the epitome of high-octane black gospel. Cleveland's vocals raise the roof, and the Angelic Choir provides the perfect counter-punch, complemented by bluesy keyboards and swinging percussion (the drums on "I Will Wear a Crown" have an almost surf-rock feel). And the rousing doxology and amens ("Praise God") provide the perfect conclusion. If you are a fan of gospel, you must have this record! If you are interested in gospel, this is the place to start.

Unfortunately, Rev. Cleveland never equalled this masterpiece. If anyone knows of any albums that sound like "Peace Be Still," I would love to hear about them.

I almost did not buy this CD, thanks to the pathetically inaccuate review claiming the sound quality is terrible. Amazon needs to remove such irresponsible and careless reviews. Now read a review from someone who's collected Newport recordings since 1963.

Yes, at the END of the concert, we hear Mahalia OFF-MICROPHONE: she's merely making her stage exit while still singing to the people! Naturally the volume of her voice fades into the thunderous ovation as she moves further away from the mikes. But this lasts for just a few bars--out of a nearly one hour concert--hardly anything that warrants a review calling the entire concert poorly recorded. Having yet to see Amy Grant in concert, I was drawn to this album -- especially because it came with a four-song DVD of Amy doing some live performances. I enjoyed the body of the album quite a bit. I was particularly impressed with how well Amy integrated her contemporary Christian music with her regular pop; she really melds the two into a cohesive, non-alienating show. One would think Amy would have strung all her pop hits into a show, but she didn't. In fact, some of her biggest hits (such as "Find A Way" and the #1 hit "That's What Love Is For") are omitted in favor of lesser-known material like "Simple Things" and the exquisite "Stay For Awhile," an slow-burning anthem to old friendships.
