I have all of Lunasa's CDs, and they are all very good, but in my opinion this is their best recording yet. Others may disagree, but there seems to be an energy in their playing here that I thought was a bit lacking in their previous 2 albums, good though they were. Maybe the live nature of this recording accounts for that. The only track that I am not so keen on is 'The Wounded Hussar', but that is just a personal preference - I'm not a great fan of pipe solos. The only criticism I have of this album is that it is too short!

I bought this for my husband who is a huge Kingston Trio Fan. It had songs on it that he had never heard of, which surprised him. He loves it.

Fred is at the top of his pickin' game on this record. The grass is blue on this one, and Fred's turn of phrase and trademark voice make this a great record to play while sitting in the rocking chair on the porch watching your neighors head off to work.

This album is an old friend. Like others, I bought (and still have!) the vinyl version of this. It's an old friend too in the relationship between Pete, Arlo, and the audience, which will include you. I had the honor of talking with Arlo once. He told we that they still get together now and then to jam. The Carnegie Hall sessions are merely an extension of those family get-togehers.
Pete Seeger is Americana. He gave to an America that took unjustly from him. Pete was black-listed during the McCarthy Era and struggled to feed his family. Yet he worked to bring dignity to migrants and the family man on the assembly line. Pete marched with Martin Luther King Jr., stood with him at the Lincoln Memorial, and introduced him to "We Shall Over Come." Pete ... Read More:

I saw Greg Brown live in Cedar Falls, IA recently and have since purchased many of his CDs. He's great live, and this album gives the listener a good feel of actually being there.

I was rummaging through a used record shop in the early 80's when I stumbled across this album in the dollar bin. It was probably the best buck I ever spent! This 1963 live performance is a wonderful example of the coffee house experience,But wait not exactly, as it has elements of jazz, barrelhouse, Americana, comedy....jeesh it's got a bit of everything. Does anybody wonder why this remarkable performer has managed to stay under the radar of the general public? I don't. Eclectic to a fault, unable to pigeonhole this artist, as her selections run the gamut. She has the ability to serenade sweetly and turn on a dime and get low down and dirty.
There are those who complain about the topical humor in the intros. And I understand it to a point. Is it dated? Yes, it ... Read More:

I have this LP and finally decided to get the CD - transferring from a too many times played LP was not practical. Anyway - if you love Glenn, this is a must have for your collection.

What a great time in America! It was the Golden Age(around 1957 to Nov.22 1963) and sadly we'll never see times like that again. You can't roll back the march of time but you can listen to this great CD! For me the KT with Dave Guard was it! Just wasn't a fan of John Stewart-a talented guy- but to me his voice just didn't meld with the others to create that etherial magic that is the mystery of music...Phil and Don..John and Paul--you get the picture? The audio quality isn't the best but it's not bad by any means. It's just amazing how talented these guys were and how good they sound live--they were the real deal-no studio tricks needed. Here's to you "Lady Bird" were ever you are!
