I love the sound of the Coors....especially "When the Stars Go Blue"..they sang some oldies too that sounded great...Love this CD!!

This is one of the best of the many solo live McCartney CD's, if only because of the relaxed nature of it. Done during the period when widely popular MTV Unplugged was near its peak, Paul McCartney tones down the fire for a laid back and cozy run through a few old favorites, and a surprisingly swinging rockabilly groove. Beginning with Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula" and ending with a McCartney obscurity, Paul is obviously having a barrel of fun. His singing is relaxed and unforced, the band is solid and swinging, and there is an element of cheer that really adds to the proceedings.
There are also some clever stories to be told, like the breif explanation of the first song McCartney ever wrote ("I Lost My Little Girl"). He even ... Read More:

I have heard this album in its original state on the LP/Vinyl version when it came out in 1981, and might I say, that was one of the best Maze albums of all time. What I cannot believe is that some of the songs that were on the album are not on neither the CD or the MP3 version. I was getting ready to download this classic album onto my i-Pod when I discovered that the "Introduction" and a couple of other songs that were present on the LP/Vinyl version were missing from the CD/MP3 version.
For this reason, I decided against downloading it to my i-Pod. What Frankie Beverly needs to do is re-release CD, and make it so that it is EXACTLY like the original album. If and when he does that, then I'll consider buying the CD then (and then ... Read More:

The only fault with this album is that the notes are almost non-existant. I guess if I had the time I could figure out which songs were from Australia '77 and Wembly 79 and Stockholm '81, but I would have been happy if they did that for me.
The songs are all top shelf performances and just make me wish than in the late 70's I had not devoted so much energy to the punk music and kept my ABBA habit secret. I had all the singles back then but hid them as a guilty pleasure. Since I was more concerned with trends, I blew the chance to see them when they played the States and have only this cd (and a handful of videos and bootlegs) to keep me happy today. Don't make my mistake. Embrace your inner spandex jump suit; buy the c.d. Tell everyone ... Read More:

The 2 people (or is it 1 double posting) on here who say George Michael can't sing are talking nonsense. OK, you're Queen fans and in your eyes and mine nobody can ever replace Freddy, fair enough, but to say George Michael can't sing is like saying Posh Spice CAN!! It's absurd. I am a massive fan of Queen and on the day of the Tribute Concert it became all too apparent that none of the artists performing could hold a candle to Freddy for sheer vocal ability and performance, then right near the end of the concert George Michael took to the stage. WOW!!! Is all I can say, he nailed it. George sang his butt off that day and you could see and sense the crowd at Wembley appreciating someone who could actually pull it off. They loved it, I loved it and if you don't ... Read More:

The atmosphere at the Hollywood Bowl was nice and cosy. And so was the music. And so is this 2 cdset. I enjoy at least three times a week!

I'm a huge Leon fan, but the sound of this album literally gives me a headache. The ceaseless shriek of the women background singers is way too high up in the mix. It overpowers everything else. After the third song I'm running for the stereo to just make it stop. I absolutely love Leon's studio work and consider him one of the all time great songwriters but this thing is just nerve wracking.

According to the web site for the John Denver World Family, this album goes by several names: "Love Again," "The Unplugged Collection," or "A Celebration of Life." Whatever you call it, this recording, coming in his 53rd year, is mature, beautiful, and will spoil you for the recordings from his 20's and early 30's. By 1996 he had lived a lot of life, and it shows in this version of old favorites. A real gift to JD fans worldwide.

I was at the series of shows from 1986 where this album was made. I couldn't wait for it to come out. Part of the problem is false advertising. While most of this was recorded at the Greek Theatre in 1986, some of it was from the Mountain View Music Theatre in northern California.
I give it two stars only because it does capture the feel of a Diamond concert just a bit. Still, other than, I am I Said, Cherry Cherry, and Hello Again, the songs are simply butchered. To make it worse, the album is poorly mixed.
If you want later Diamond live material, checi out "Greatest Hits 1966-1992, or Stages. Avoid "Live From America" like the plague.
