I only liked half of this album on vinyl ... the latter half.
And if the performance had been transferred from the vinyl version, I'd give it three stars.
BUT
This 'transfer' from vinyl to CD is a SUCH a hack job. One can easily hear the crude edits. The intimacy of the dialogue from the original recording was slashed.
Truly, my little boy could have done a better remastering job.

Is this the best of her work? It's all fabulous, let me tell you, but I have hope that the best is still yet to come. This CD proves she's still out there and she's still working.
I listen to this music and think how many moments has her music been with us even subconsciously? "Pleasant Valley Sunday" reminds me so much of a neighborhood I once lived in with the garage band down the street and the lawn-of-the-month wars between the neighbors on either side of me.
Oh yeah, and I heard "I'm into something good" the first time I saw my first crush. And "Natural Woman" was my favorite song for years...just how many artists have covered this song?
This is the music a lot of us grew up with. I believe ... Read More:

I'm a big Bryan Adams fan, but this is the first time I've bought his music. None of the songs I knew were on this CD, but I like just about everything.

This album gives today's listener an idea of what the deal was about Elton John. Unusual melodies and harmonic chords which grabbed you; quirky subjects and off-beat, often intelligent lyrics (thanks to Bernie Taupin), and some wonderfully manic and physical piano pounding. By 1974-75 the original hard rockin' EJ was gone and The Eternally Mr. Fabulous was what we got in his place.

An apt salute to the six studio albums of boogie rock that the J. Geils Band had recorded between 1970-1975, this 1976 live extravaganza showcases the band at their best--performing live! It is also a capable followup to 1972's Full House, which remains one of the best live recordings of any American band in the 20th century!
Released at a time when live albums were big sellers (Frampton Come Alive, Kiss Alive, i.e.), this underated gem gives the band a chance to deliver their best songs with irreverent energy and unstoppable rythym that'll have you dancing within the first two minutes of the opening "Southside Shuffle" till the last chords of "Give it to Me"
Some may find Peter Wolf's banter a bit lengthy and/or annoying in between ... Read More:

I wanted to see this tour so bad. Being only 10, I could not go. I listend to this album so much. I just gave it a listen after a long time, and it stands up to time. If you are a Paul McCartney fan, this is a must to own.
Release Date April 28, 1998
I bought this as a gift. I was very happy with the price and the speed of delivery.
My friend, a HUGE Cheap Trick fan was estatic to get it. It is in perfect condition and made him very happy.

This is the middle time for the BNL. They do great live versions of their classic songs. The only objection I have to this is there is some profanity in one of the songs. I listened to this with my cousins when we were younger. Outside of the small useage of profanity, this is a classic album and a must for any BNL fan.

Orchestral jazz is a special and often hard-to-find variety of jazz, and this album is one of the best representatives of that genre. Mangione was at his best when writing for large ensembles. This 1973 concert recording also features vocalist Esther Satterfield on three of the six tracks, and a 24-voice chorus on one track. Mangione's quartet is out in front of the orchestra, including his superb soprano saxophonist Gerry Niewood. A couple of notable names in the ensemble: Jon Faddis leads the trumpet section, and Steve Gadd is one of the percussionists.
Each of the tracks is very different in character. "Legend of the One-Eyed Sailor" is a great opener, building intensity as it goes, with nice solos from Mangione and Niewood and powerful backup from Faddis. The beautiful "Lullaby ... Read More:

My brother had this on vinyl; I had it on 8-track. One difference between them was that the vinyl started right on the downbeat of "Medicated Goo", while the tape had crowd noise and an announcement: "We'd like to say good evening, and welcome to the canteen." Can someone tell me if this intro in on the CD?
