days and I think it is the most beautiful music in the universe,
not to forget Marie's voice.

Recorded at the Royal Festival Hall London in 2002, this live performance led by Brian Wilson and The Wondermints is incredible. Beach Boy fans will never get to see the original Beach Boys perform Pet Sounds but the Wondermints do an incredible job. Brians voice has aged but still does a fine job on "Pet Sounds Live". Brian sounds really enthused and energized at this show. I have listened to this cd a few times already, and enjoy it each listen. "Pet Sounds" live gives the original studio release a new vibrant sound, "Pet Sounds Live" will make you appreciate what a landmark recording it is. Michael Crawford has the voice of an angel. I've listened to just about all of his recordings and love them. I enjoyed the comments made during this concert. I can't look at my coffee table without thinking of him and Gene Kelly dancing on one. The songs were a nice cross section showcasing his talent.

A GREAT 2 CD SET TAKEN FROM A 1966 CONCERT, ELLA SOUNDS REALLY LOOSE AND THE ELLINGTON BAND IS SHEER PERFECTION, AS ALWAYS (WOULD DUKE ELLINGTON HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY?). A LOT OF GREAT UPTEMPO TUNES, AND SOME BEAUTFUL BALLADS BY ELLA AS WELL (SHE DOES A GREAT VERSION OF "MISTY"). THE WHOLE CD IS GREAT FROM START TO FINISH, YOU WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY THIS CD.

I love to hear different versions of songs I like, at least if they are well done. This CD is excellent in that respect.

Eurythmics approaches "Here Comes the Rain Again" with an acoustic guitar and a slower tempo than the original.

David Bowie opens China Girl with solo piano before returning to original tempo with a full band (SRV is not in this recording.)

"Crash" is done just right with ONLY 2 acoustic guitars, the way it was meant to be done.

Even John Cougar's tired old "Jack & Diane" gets new life, it's a tuff, tight version with a few new tricks...which is where my beef comes in...John Cougar Mellencamp rapping??? No,no - I don't think so...but sadly, yes. He screws up an excellent performance ... Read More:

What an awesome package from Bryan Adams!...I had recently purchased his new release entitled "11" (which is fantastic and also highly recommended), and was itching to watch some concert footage. Found Live At The Budokan on Amazon and for the price, what a deal! He belts out 26 songs on the dvd and the cd has 15!! All that for only fifteen bucks! The dvd quality is superb and it's great to be able to watch him onstage without rapidly changing video angles as many new dvds have recently. Very well put together and very highly recommended!!!

I'm blessed to live in the tropics, where I do a volunteer three hour show monthly on our local public radio station, KPRG. I strive to be diverse and unpredictable, playing rock, blues, country, and lots of things in between, and pride myself on the obscure. The greatest compliment I ever heard on the show was "I don't know what the hell he's doing, but it's the best radio show on Guam".
