While you can get everyone of Adams studio cds for real cheap these days, this album is a real treat. Ive heard and own alot of live albums but this is one of my faviortes. All his most popular songs at the time is on here and I do enjoy the bonus tracks. My favorite songs are One Night Love Affair, Cuts Like a Knife, I Fought the Law, and Someone. Too many good songs to name really.

I once owned Live at Harlem Square, but it was stolen out of my car a few years ago. I saw this was available for download, so I gave it a go. This is okay and everything, but the energy Cooke and his band has at Harlem Square it literally ten times what they've got on this album. As soon as I got done listening to this, I put the order in to have Harlem Square mailed to my house.

I will be brief here. This was one of my most well listened to LP's. Excellent songs from an excellent group who were at their strongest during these recordings. Their wit and humor and talent pours from every groove, er, byte. Very enjoyable upbeat music unlike any being made today.

I just recently came across this album and it i must confess it has been sometime since i have listened to any of Paul Simons music. It is just a fantastic album and the quality of production is exceptional. Alot of Live albums are a bit hit & miss .. apart from the content the production can sometimes be left wanting. But not so with this album .. the quality is exceptional. Paul Simon is the ultimate Professional ... like most professionals in their chosen vocation they make it all look (& sound) so terribly easy. This album reminded me just what a talent this guy has got ... it oozes from every pore of his being. It is because he is so talented you just come to expect nothing less than perfection from this guy. I truly believe that because of his natural ... Read More:

"Live at the BBC" was the final album on Mark Knopfler's contract for Dire Straits, and it was the third completely live album to be released by the band (first being Alchemy and second On the Night). This album consists of eight songs, the first seven recorded in 1978 and the eighth in 1981.
I must admit that I was not a fan of this album on first hearing, but I grow fonder of it with every listen. The performances are simply the songs from the studio albums, but they carry that live feel that Knopfler feeds off of - they aren't just lifted off the records and played over. I find these recordings to be particularly enjoyable due to Knopfler's shy and brief descriptions and introductions for each song. To hear Knopfler describe a song as a "strange idea" always ... The original vinyl double album was one of my first music purchases as a kid growing up in Orange County Ca. I literally wore it out on my cheap turntable. For years I just got by with the memory of how much I loved this album. Last year I came into possession of the CD, and it still shows what a great performer Tina Turner was in her prime. However, while I love it for what it is, the sound isn't as good as we are used to these days, and while Ms. Turner is an incredible perfomer, she isn't a great vocalist, as great vocalist go, but on the other hand she can really deliver on the emotion of a lyric.
The other thing is this is a great example of a bygone kind of show... The "Rock & Roll Review" which started back in the 50's and probably died with the divorce ... Read More:

Here we have one of the greatest voices in music playing to a small live audience. The fact that he is singing live doesn't have an affect the quality of his sound. This is such an enjoyable performance to listen to, full of soul, energy, enjoyment and banter. Recorded only about one year before his death, this is Mr. Cooke at his best.
One can only wonder what it would have been like to be there that night, to see him in person, to get involved in the show. The people there must have treasured that experience forever. Not all the tracks are the best from his career, but it is the pure quality of his voice, performance and the atmosphere of the audience that makes this album stand out.

I am a lover of live recordings, and this one exceeds expectations. The only drawback is Paul singing some of his own 90's songs, which I tend to skip over (such as Biker Like an Icon). In general, very satisfied with the CD
