I've listened to his music since he started recording and this album showcases his youthful vocal style and energy. I particularly enjoy the funky blues and soul numbers but find this overall to be an excellent addition to to my collection.

i remember seeing this when it first came out .the MTV unplugged series was definitely an armature show till natalie and the maniacs appeared and i never even heard of them the track- because the night became an instant hit you can still hear it on radios stations almost daily (my other favorite was -like the weather )all the tracks were great and the band and natalie were on point this show put the unplugged series on the map and set the standards high it was also visually pleasing to watch but they didnt put it on DVD my other favorite was the nirvana episode no DVD either

Get this album, this is their 2nd live album and first with brian johnson. Brian is very good live. He even does a better job than bon scott. Brian is much better at singing Highway to hell. You can also consider it as a greatest hit album, a lot of their singles are on here but they are live. Also, to let you know this is a double cd, they have 2 different sets. A double which is this one and they have a standard one set cd

More great live music from the real king of texas blues. This material is killer. BUT, when they say bootleg, they mean it... The mix sounds if taken from a sound board and maybe ran thru a sound enhancer. Not sure if it is just my cd, but the treble is way up -sounding like it is maxed out to hide the hiss. You have to turn it down -which on my car deck is a pain. But then again, you have to take the bad with the good when it comes to a legend like Johnny Winter. If you are like me, you will buy everything he puts out -and relish it. Which is exactly what I do - and you should too. They do not make them like Johnny Winter anymore. Regarding whether this will be a positive or negative review, let me start by saying I bought this Tuesday 8/26/08 (the day it was released), and I've thus far given it about a dozen listens. Yes I'm a fan.
And yes, I love this CD. "Greatest Hits Live" is culled from the same three European concerts of 3DN's '72-'73 world tour that provided the tracks for their amazing 1973 live double album "Around The World With Three Dog Night". I've never forgiven MCA for dropping the ball with their CD releases of the 3DN catalog. Not only have they never been given the box set they so richly deserve, but three of their original albums (four, if You count the non-MCA 80's ep "It's A Jungle") have never seen a CD release. I would have given 5 stars. Iconoclassic did a beautiful job remastering and reissuing "Nested". The sounds quality on "Seasons of Light" is equally superb. Cleary much care and consideration were given to this effort. I do have a complaint, however. Although Iconoclassic included the LP version of "Timer" as a bonus track, they failed to do the same with "Emmie". I happen to think the LP version of "Emmie" is superior to the CD version that is included in this set. It is unfortunate that Iconoclassic decided to skip this and miss out on creating a truly complete collection.

It's not always easy to pick a favorite when it comes to something you like, such as Van Morrison. However, this album is easily my favorite. Amazing band, great guest vocalists and there is that unique concert experience, where those songs will never sound the same again. Buy this album, you will not be disappointed!!
