I came across Pitbull's 2004 album M.I.A.M.I. by accident because I was really looking for something else, but I listened to it and I was impressed. But his latest album, El Mariel, is even better.
Keep in mind, though; despite the reggaeton movement that has taken place over the past two years or so, Pitbull is simply a "standard" rap artist that has some Latin-inspired beats (so if you think this is a bad reggaeton album, check yo'self). But there are plenty of highlights, like "Jealouso", "Rock Bottom" and "Come See Me". Even the song with Wyclef ("Jungle Fever") works.
Pit also does a good job when he gets introspective on us. "Miami Ish" successfully incorporates serious subject matter into a party song (something ... Read More:

After experimenting with their sound on the aptly titled Mañana, Sin Bandera decided to pay tribute to those who came before them. Though the idea is nothing new (particularly in Latin music), the result is surprisingly fresh and innovative. Pasado, or "past", completes a two part series titled Pasado Manaña, meaning "after tomorrow." Having worked with Franco De Vita on his 2004 hit single "Si la ves," Sin Bandera opens this album with his song "Un buen perdedor." The original, a power ballad reminiscent of Billy Joel, is retuned with a crisp, more polished sound. While the piano from De Vita's version is retained, Sin Bandera adds their signature layered sound with a bigger hook perfect for radio play. In Luís Miguel's "Hoy el aire huele a ti," ... Read More:

I did not like the switch in rhyming here from the jack style of rapping they had in black sunday and the album before. They switched to a diddley style rap and no, no I do not go for it. The whole atmosphere is phased and cannot adjust to it. A good example of diddley rap is Kid Frosts Smile now Die later disc where domino raps with him and they describe the whole murder that is a good diddley. The beats are good and hard on some songs (you really don't need to guess which ones they are)and to me are not very close in atmosphere to their previous albums but their sound is still there.

Baby Ranks has always been one of my favorite artists, I've been waiting for this cd for a long time. The first time through the cd i had to skip a few tracks, it had some good songs but it was not what I was expecting. I still gave it a 4 out of 5 just because Baby Ranks is one of my favorite artists. Its one of those cd's you just listen to the same songs over and over and skip everything else, I would have liked to see some old Baby Ranks with Divino type songs(like in the DJ Goldy cd).

I know these two may seem like something new to alot of people, but having lived in Puerto Rico for more than half my life, calle 13 brought back the fondest memories.
Wit, humor, patriotism and provocative lyrics have made them my favorites and brought me back to the genre.

Read More:

I was hesitant to buy this album after hearing "Perdoname," since La Factoria has always been a group to watch for and they have had a number of hits; I was wondering if that was the only great song on the album, I have one of their prior albums. When I listened to "Morire" on Youtube, I knew I had to get the album. The album feels like a mix of pop/dance/reggaeton/R&B. Throughout the album the greatness of both voices is very noticeable. One is more a singer with a sweet voice, the other a rapper with a rough voice. There are soft songs like "Como Me Duele," "La Soledad" and "Morire." There are songs like "Dale," "La Pagaras" and "Dejalo" which sound like perfect female anthems. Although Eddy Lover only wrote "Perdoname" and "Morire" for them, they are perfect additions to the album ... Read More:

This is a basically a greatest hits album. The album is great and should make you want to purchase Orishas's individual albums. As any one knows greatest hits albums are only the opinions of the record company's. After listing to this offering I would think you would want to develop you own opinion.
