This album is simply amazing. After the commercial success of her first U.S. release, LAUNDRY, Shakira went back to her artistic roots with this all-Spanish album. The musicality, lyricism, and tone of this CD puts all of her prior and later work to shame. Even the English VOL. 2, a great album in its own right, pales in comparison. Shortly after its release, "Hips Don't Lie" (which is not included on the original version of VOL. 2) became a big hit. I don't assume Shakira will ever return to this sort of artistic work, preferring to make millions making mindless pop songs, and who can blame her? At least she gave the world this one resounding triumph of sound.

This is my 2nd DVD concert for the Gipsy Kings. The first one I purchased 3 years ago directly off their Official Website (it's not longer for sale on their website) and I must say - this DVD is EXCELLENT and blows away the first one I purchased! I'm not quite sure why a couple of people previously gave low reviews. This DVD is in HiDef and the sound quality on my home entertainment system is incredible. The Concert includes some old favorites as well as some new hits from their album "Roots". It also has 5 songs in recording sessions as well as a history of the band and a "Pictography" (Pictures of their childhood and their families) AND some historical footage!!! I have been a fan of Ricky Martin since I was a young girl. And yet, I truly wasn't going to buy this CD because after his Livin' La Vida Loca era, I didn't like the path his music was heading, but after hearing one of his new songs, "Tu Recuerdo" on the radio, I went out and bought the CD. This is one of the few CD's where I can say I love every single one of the songs in it. His vocals are AMAZING, the song selection is the BEST and you can truly feel him connecting with the music. He put all of his best songs into one CD and even if you've heard the songs before in one of his earlier CD's it doesn't feel repetitive at all, it's refreshing. I LOVE it.

Amazon's five stars cannot do justice to Bebe's Pafuera Telaranas, an album that deserves six stars. I cannot listen to this album without it effecting me emotionally. One song makes me want to cry and the next one makes we want to date her. She rails against abuse. She expressively describes making love and thinking about making love. Bebe touches on subjects that few Spaniards would. Themes like "thinking of you with my hand", "taking advantage of a stranger sleeping in the park to satisfy a curiosity for the taste of 'honey'" "the yearning of her vagina that can only be cured by his thing," and so on. Another great album by Victor Manuelle. It follows in the footsteps of Decision Unanime (his last album). In this album, Victor continues to give us his full range of musical excellence and attributes. Victor has covered every type of salsa experience there is! He is able to match the old with the new. He is able to be authentic and yet bring his own style. I also want to add that Victor is not only a great Sonero, he has proven that, but he is a great Cantante as well. This is what makes his albums great.
Lastly, I respect other peoples opinion. This time I stronlgy disagree with how other people rated this album. I am confident they do not understand what real salsa is. And do not appreciate quality when they here it because they prefer commercial ... Read More:

You dont have to speak spanish to enjoy good latin music. Marc Anthony is one of best vocal musicians out there. It makes great music for a candle light dinner with the right lady. I personally recommend it for anyone.
