As the title suggests, "Bachata #1's" is a compilation of some great bachata hits. I recommend this CD for beginners to bachata music as well as my Latin dance students who are looking for music to practice with. The CD includes some of today's greatest bachateros, including Aventura, Monchy & Alexandra, Alex Bueno, Xtreme, and Frank Reyes. Of course there will always be some great artists and hits ommitted, but this is a great start and a great intro CD to give to friends. Bachata lovers will obviously want to buy complete CDs from these artists. Beginners to bachata - feel free to check out my list of bachata music favorites on my profile.

I read some of the reviews about Ricky Martin's self-titled album, and I was shocked to find mixed reviews. Even though I am not a hard core Latin music fan (not enough exposure), I appreciate great music when I hear it. I bought this album when it was released in 1999, and it quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time(s). It is 2008, and I still feel very passionately about it. Not only are his lyrics great, his voice is very beautiful. Whenever I listen to this album, I feel more than ever that love truly exists, i.e., Private Emotion, Be Careful, I Am Made Of You, You Stay With Me, I Count The Minutes, She's All I Ever Had, and Spanish Eyes. I am more familiar with Serrat than Sabina" work, but together they are wonderful, more than songs they are poetry with music, I loved this DVD, very well done and the musicians are #1, enjoy !!

Looking at the others reviews I sincerely think you were too much generous or you don't know the music of Tito. I bought this CD and I was desapointed for the lack of energy authenticity by the quality of the arrangements.
This is not a bad CD but the oldies are FAR BETTER.
