I was pretty impressed purchasing music from Amazon for the first time. Easy, quick, great price. Got exactly the music I wanted.
Really bummed out with the Amazon downloader, though. Why, WHY, do I have to download more junk just to download songs when I (as does everyone else) already have so many music and download apps already loaded? Then, since it defaults to putting the music in Itunes, and Itunes came up with a message that there was an update to download, the Amazon downloader wasn't able to save my first 6 songs! Good thing I work with computers all the time and was able to find where they actually went. I don't think the average computer user would have been able to find them. C'mon Amazon! Keep it simple!

Of the thousands of CD's I own, this has to be the best. I can't overstate the quality of his musicianship and sheer joy he communicates. Giora Feidman is the true definition of the word artist.

"EL DANZON DE MOISES" is a beautiful instrumental Cuban-Klezmer fusion music, unique and I think unprecedented, the fusion of Cuba's traditional "Danzon" and "Klezmer" musics. As a Cuban born, Cuban music fan, I was delighted to discover it and I want to congratulate Roberto Juan Rodriguez & His Ensemble for such a wonderful creation. I highly recommend this album with an album title song "El Danzon de Moises" or "Moses Danzon" worthy of its contents and creation. A must have for both Cuban and Klezmer music fans, I guarantee they will be delighted when they listen to this outstanding fusion and this unique creation. This album is definitely the musical voice of Cuba's longtime small but not forgotten jewish community "our polacos" as we called ... Read More:

This music has a distinctive Spanish flavour to it - the guitar introduction on the first track is unmistakably Spanish; this is a tradition that dates back to the time before Columbus discovered the 'new' world, which ironically was the same year Ferdinand and Isabella issued their edict of expulsion to the Jews in Spain. The Sephardic Jews took their musical traditions with them when they left, such that the Spanish influences in their culture permeated the Jewish communities in other parts of Europe.
There are all sorts of music on this disc, that covers the whole range of pieces from the Sephardic culture - there are love songs, lullabies, and storytelling songs. Women feature prominently in the stories, and most likely in the composition, ... Read More:

When I was looking for something new at Best Buy, I had to sift through a ton of unoriginal, cookie-cutter mainstream trash before I got to the Folk section. But that's another story. I picked up "The Big Kibosh" not knowing what kind of music it was, i just thought the cover was interesting. Well, i was pleasantly surprised-accordions have never sounded as good as this before! I do like that they have an accordion; some bands choose to go without one, and that can be good too, but this accordionist is accomplished beyond belief! They start out on the right, upbeat, crazy note with the spirit-lifting "Wake-up Call", which puts you in the mood for the wonderful craziness that pervades the rest of the CD, stopping only for "transition to ... I saw the band live, and they play with 200% energy, intensity, and focus. But I'm glad I bought the CD because now I can hear the words and all the vocal and musical nuances. "Fresh Off Boat" (what a funny title) has grown on me with repeated listenings. Golem consists of six eccentric geniuses who sing in Yiddish, Romany, Russian, French and another language I didn't recognize. There's the wildman lead singer Aaron Diskin who's all over the place vocally, downed a pint onstage and wore eye makeup while he played the tambourine. Annette Ezekiel, the band's leader, accordionist and female vocalist has an amazingly expressive alto voice. Apparently she's also got an encyclopedic knowledge of Eastern European Jewish music and does lots of musical research for ... Read More:

This music is intoxicating, like some soundtrack to an indie film, cult classic. You've got to check this out. If you like Jazz, Latin, Jewish, Eastern European, Gypsy, -- any of the above, you're going to find this music intriguing.
Sharing it with family:

My younger brother likes Coletrane, Monk, Classical, etc. and thought this stuff was fascinating. My poor dad - country, 60s rock fan - just sat staring at me wondering aloud "What is this?" Exactly! People with all sorts of taste will want this in their music collection. It's eclectic and sensuous, the kind of music you're going to play at parties and want to share with friends and family. If you like to dance, don't miss this treat.
