I'm compelled to write a review because I realized that since this came out I've had it on a casette and it has never been out rotation in my car stereo. This is a real band with a beautiful style.

Tricky with his fourth major album was back to his blistering best form. After the disappointing "Angels with Dirty Faces", Tricky teams up with DJ Muggs (from Cypress Hill) and Grease (amongst others) for a match (or matches) made in heaven with "Juxtapose".

The album kicks off with "For Real" - an ever-so-smooth dig at Gangster rappers and their "fake" lifestyles. The album then does a u-turn with "Bom Bom Diggy" - where Tricky is rapping some incredibly drugged fudged but memorable lines ("Drop the Bombz/Who Killed the Fonz/Henry Winkler/How does he thinker/How does he sinker" - total class peoples! Amazon's tracklisting seems wrong here. There is nothing complex or deep about this album....but I listen to frequently....it's totally rowdy and fun. My favorites are Ruffneck and Hold Up Your Hands.

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this album: THE GREATEST HITS OF SNOW. LMAO! What "Greatest hits"? The only minor hit he had was Informer....And even THAT sucked!!!

Oh well, Licky Boom Boom.......They just don't write deep meaningful lyrics like that anymore.

BOB MARLEY must be spinnin'! So skip this joke and go buy BOB MARLEY: LEGEND!

orishas comes back with another amazing record!! this cd had me completely hooked!! as if "a lo cubano" wasn't amazing enough, the guys from orishas come back with a bang. even without flaco-pro, who had some serious skills. he left the group about 4 shows into a tour because his brother got in with some bad people in miami. he was killed, and flaco-pro turned to booze. but be on the look out for flaco, because word is he's still writing and collaborating and recording...
anyway, i can't wait til "el kilo," their third cd drops march 29th. i saw a video online of "naci orishas" (the first single) online and it's incredible!!

This is a Cool album ,N'dea has a voice that transcends time ,she would have been a Knockout in the 50's 60's and 70's ,the Honesty with which she sings really resonates and track 9 in particular is Wonderful.Buy the CD and lets all support these talented People ,they are after all giving us there SOUL.

This cd is very different although it seems like its just a combination of alot of his other albums rolled onto one album i think it gets tricky's best. Working with people like Bjork,Allison Goldfrapp, etc. he brings a "different" taste to the trip hop scene. At times I think the way the album was put together it the tracks could of been placed in a different order but thats just my picky side. The song "Poems" which takes you on almost a depressing but enlightening road gets u ready for what the album ride is like. "Broken Homes" which features the punk/alternative artist PJ Harvey is a song which seems like the drum pattern is from a drummer boy goin to war and a choir chanting lyrics about how people just cant seem to keep things together these days."Pumpkin" which features ... So my boss hooked me up with this album (points up^) by Plastilina Mosh- a group I've never heard of before. They're great hot summer cruising music. I think they are what would happen if the Beastie Boys and the Gorillaz had a Latin baby that had Smashmouth for a nanny. My favorite song is Track 05, "Monster Truck". Give a listen if you want something new. Its almost like a mix tape rather than a cohesive album... a nice palate cleanser if you will.

I was first turned on to the BNH in Amsterdam, circa 1996, in a coffee shop. That album was Brother, Sister, which is great.

Great, funky, catchy modern R&B.

I've followed them since then, and picked up Shelter in 2007. It's their best album, by far. AMAZING songwriting, arrangements, & musicianship!

Yeah, I love N'Dea's vocals, but I actually think Siedah Garrett's just as good, and she's a better songwriter. She co-wrote a lot of the songs on this album. There's not a stinker in the bunch!

The title-track, "Shelter", "Sometimes You Gotta Do Right", "Stay Gone", and "Feels Like Right" are some of the best tunes I've heard in my life.

Buy it.
