This album takes the best parts of Watermark and refines and masters them.
From start to finish, and absolute masterpiece.
One of the most brilliant and original albums ever.
Don't skip this one. If you own only one Enya cd it should be this one.
Enya earned her place as an innovator and a force to be reckoned with on this one.
A piece of music history.

This is an awesome CD! There are songs that I would like to have on the CD, but the ones that are here, really are some of UB40's best! I'm so happy that I bought this CD. It's great for road trips, pool parties, listening while working or for a quick drive to the grocery store! UB40 Rocks!

I'm relatively new to The Stills and I heard this album before the other two. Since I haven't spun Logic yet, maybe that's why I can genuinely appreciate this album in a vacuum. Well, I am currently listening to WF and I like WF too. But Oceans is much catchier, I can hear hints of bands such as Dredg and even AFI and Funeral For A Friend, which is fine with me. Tim and Dave's voices are both nice, it's hard to tell the difference most of the time.
It reminds me of the situation that Funeral For A Friend went through. They changed their style completely on their current album Tales, and although it's a decent album, compared to their previous work, it's easy to see why it got trashed.

I love how with every album Loreena McKennitt puts out, her album is the results of her travels all over the world. On her album THE BOOK OF SECRETS (which would be her last studio album for several years before AN ANCIENT MUSE), Loreena explores the history of the celts. When I listen to the cd, I feel like I am getting a history lesson in celtic history. I like that Loreena writes music that is never insulting or trite.Although the album version of "The Mummer's Dance" is a far cry from the radio version, it is nonetheless still a joy to listen to. The album version is longer and slower while the radio versoin is shorter and more upbeat. Me thinks radio wanted a version that would appeal to a broader audience. If that was the case it worked but unfortunately it made ... Read More:

I have long been a fan of Michael Cretu's breakaway music format and it is always a breath of fresh of air. It's always good to listen to Enigma when hit with the intensity of today's music scene.
The playlist is pretty much on par on what I would have expected from a compilation.
BUT! Where is "The Child In Us" (from their juggernaut 3:LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI! album)? It is by far Enigma's most inspirational song. This album missed the boat 18 times to put this masterpiece of recording on the album. To me, "The Child In Us" in a nutshell represents what the Enigma project aimed to do. It may sound like I'm finding some way to nitpick, but that song *has* to be on the album for it to be "Greatest Hits".
My advice is to buy the digital download of ... Read More:

"Don't be like that," she sings in "Buffalo," the wonderfully orchestrated opening song from Asking for Flowers. The poinancy of her plea is evident in a voice that is at once beautiful and bereft. No one today can fashion lyrics with more honesty and insight than Canadian, Kathleen Edwards. Her songs, with indelible snapshot imagery, world-weariness, and masterfully produced music, generate in the active listener empathy, compassion and, for those who've been wounded by Love, unmistakable recognition. Like visiting a great museum, listeners will come away from Asking for Flowers with a heightened awareness of their hearts, and their sensibilities. Great Art will do this every time, for those willing to go deep enough to experience it. And they will be left feeling thankful ... Read More:

I don't understand Italian, but the music is universal. The piano is "electric", the beat is ever present, the boogie woogie is contagious, the ambiance is plain fun. I enjoy listening to this CD over and over.

Jesse is simply awesome. Can't really get too much of him, but for some reason I can't stand track 13 Toca Orilla. Must be me. This is a 2cd set so one bad song out of 26 isn't bad hey?

Last weekend I was at my favorite record store when I took a listen to the new Ladytron cd VELOCIFERO. I always wanted to hear their music but never had the opportunity until now. Needless to say I ended up leaving the store with VELOCIFERO in hand. I haven't been able to stop listening to VELOCIFERO since last weekend. Normally I am not into the sort of dance music Ladytron makes but I really enjoyed all 54 minutes. VELOCIFERO reminded me a mish mash of Lush, My Bloody Valentine, and Goldfrapp from their BLACK CHERRY era. The song that convinced me was "Ghosts". Helen Marnie reminded me of the women from the Lush with her sweet, intoxicating yet eerie vocals. Helen's vocals is a nice contrast to the often monotonous vocals of Mira Aroyo. I enjoyed all of the songs on the album ... Read More:

I was introduced to this CD by my cousin Chike (who is aware that I love experimenting musically), and I love it! The Gotan Project (Gotan is a reversal of the syllables in the word Tango) comprises a multinational trio, and their style is Jazzy Electro Tango (well, that's how I describe it), largely instrumental, with a few vocals usually spoken and in Spanish.
However, an understanding of Spanish isn't necesary to appreciate this calming, beautiful music. Yes, it does sound like what you'd hear in the background at some swanky lounge or bar (like the Amazon review mentions), but it's one that would have you asking the waiter "Who plays that?".
My favourites are "Una musica brutal" (with lovely female vocals), the piano driven beauty "Last tango in Paris", ... Read More:
