I've been a Priest fan forever, even when Rob spilt, I held out hope that they would continue on and they did after about a 7 year break with Ripper up front.
This recent release will be a mixed bag for most Priest fans. The reason I say that is simply because it's not what you would expect to hear from this band. If you're looking for 80's style Priest?, it ain't here! If you're looking for 70's style Priest?, well their are elements of it on here as it does somewhat hearken back to the early stuff from albums like Sad Wings Of Destiny and Sin After Sin etc. One things for sure, It'll surprise you in many ways.
To be honest, it took me about 20 listens to really start to appreciate what we have here. I guess it ... Read More:

Astrud Gilberto was the Brazilian Dionysian lark per excellence and the embodiment of the sensuality, lyricism and tropical alluring of the best known Latin American music all over the world. Despite the terrible circumstances that made she left us before the used, she found in Antonio Carlos Jobim the perfect key for her to exhibit her sensitiveness, charisma and unforgettable charm.
This album picks up a very significant part of her musical legacy.

The opening to the first track on the album 'Concrete Jungle' is sort of a metaphor for the groups career with Marley. They slowly gained power and notoriety then exploded for a seemingly long groove then came to a sudden stop. 'Concrete Jungle' sets the pace for the rest of the album which happens to be the groups first. This is the ying to the yang that was the bands second album Burnin.' While that album was much darker and angrier Catch A Fire is more about peace and togetherness.
Songs like the opener, along side 'Slave Driver' and 'No More Trouble' are the kind of classic social commentary Marley became known for in his lyrics. The hit 'Stir It Up' along side 'Kinky Reggae' and 'Baby We've Got A Date' show a different side ... Read More:

I loved this music. It is so peaceful and relaxing and also very romantic. If you are a Bocelli fan you will love this CD.

I'm familiar with some of Kate Rusby's earlier music because she gets airplay, from time to time, on BBC radio folk music programmes - but this is her only album that I have. 'Awkward Annie' seems to follow an established pattern - a seamless mix of self-penned original songs and traditional songs from the British Isles.
THE VOCALS : KR's voice is difficult to describe (but I'll try). If you took away the American accent and country twang from Dolly Parton's vocals, and replaced it with a decidedly Yorkshire-English accent, you'd get something which comes close to KR's vocal style (listen to how she pronounces words like 'come', 'money', or 'love'). Depending upon the song, her vocals oscillate between dainty delicacy and haunting poignancy. ... Read More:

In terms of atmosphere and feeling, Burial's "Untrue" is everything the reviewers here have said: a cry of loneliness and despair from the empty, dark, cold, rain-soaked streets of some massive urban metropolis. As many have said, it also feels intensely personal and intimate, unlike the rather alienated, mechanical feel of a lot of electronica these days. As a backdrop for nostalgic, mournful thought, there is nothing better...
And as long as your mind stays pre-occupied in such a way, you'll never realize you're listening to an extremely repetitive record that fails to change, evolve, or explore a lot of the possibilities and directions he could have taken with the chosen theme. I believe Burial was trying to make a thematically consistent album (he even ... Read More:

So you are thinking to yourself: I have everyone of these Led Zep songs. Got the box sets, the "other" greatest hits cd. Why should I plunk down $18 to buy the same old tunes in yet another repackaged cd? Because it is worth it based on the total overall package. The inner booklet is crammed with informative tidbits and pics plus a song by song description of when it was released, etc. Sound and mix is so outstanding, its like hearing these songs for the "first" time. They could have used Fool In The Rain and Dancing Days instead of Nobody's Fault But Mine and Achilles Last Stand, but that's my personal choice. Highly recommended!!!! Especially if you are one of the few Earthlings who has never heard of Led Zep, this would be a great intro into the mystical, magical and ... Read More:
