Fans of Bon Scott will particularly enjoy the first DVD, it has one of the earliest TV performances by AC/DC with their first steady lead singer, Scott. Most fans don't know that AC/DC released a single with a different lead singer, Dave Evans, but they made the right choice and dumped him for Bon Scott's world-known howls.

What can I say. After seeing Patrizio on our WXEL channel I fell in love with his music. I have since ordered his 2 CD's. My 91 year old mother in a nursing home, now also enjoys his songs on a CD player. This brings back wonderful memories of her father singing italian songs in their home.

Sleep When I'm Dead (Mix 13)

"Sleep When I'm Dead" is definitely the most Cure-like of the new singles, and a little adventurous even. Sure, as with all of the singles the sound quality lacks, is far too compressed, and lacking character, but song-wise this is definitely the best. Plus, "Down Under" is one of the best recorded new songs I've heard!

As a fan of the Tuareg group "Tinariwen', I couldn't resist buying this CD when I saw that another famous native of their region hooked up with Ry Cooder. If you've ever listened to Ry's soundtrack works or his wonderful stuff on 'A Meeting by the River' or "The Buena Vista Social Club' then you'll know why he is such a great match for a veteran like Mr. Toure. Ry's son , Joachim, is a good addition with his drum work too!

Both of these men share a love of guitar music and it shows in every track of this CD. Similar to the effect generated with listening to 'Tinariwen', Talking Timbuktu transports me to the barren- but beautiful- expanses of the Saharan regions. An absolutely irresistable collection of dance salsa! The first two cuts are absolutely spectacular. Everything else is nearly as strong. There is not a throw-away on this CD. I took a Cuban Salsa dance lesson recently, and the instructor played "Mua Mua Mua" 3 or 4 times every lesson for 7 lessons, and the class never tired of it, we just loved the song more each time! The entire CD stands up well to repeated listening. It has a nice variety, with a couple tracks having a reggaeton sound, and a couple cumbias, while sticking closer to true cuban salsa rather that the Americanized club sound. Mostly though the sound is pure and true Salsa. If that is what you are looking for, this is a must have disc!
