Yes it is early to be making such a list so soon but I would not be surprised if this was on my top ten for the year. I already had two of their previous and thought that I did not need another. But, every time I went to my local cd store the clerks were playing this cd and it has just slowly but surely won me over. This is music that is not easy to find so order it now and enjoy it. It is part King Sunny Ade and part Cuban Allstars and is just plain well done-the Orchestra Baobab way.

For what it is, a meditation CD, this is a perfect offering. The lady's voice is incredibly beautiful, the melodies are haunting and uplifting, and the significance behind the words is both meaningful and calming. Though it is definitely repetitious, mantras sung over and over, I have listened to it probably 50 times so far, know the words by heart, can sing the harmonies to her tracks, all levels, and find it lends to repeated hearing. I first heard it played very softly at my yoga class, and it caught my attention enough that I asked about the artist, then ordered the CD for myself. I love it. Darren Hayes just gets better and better! His ability to write personal, heartfelt music that can lift a crowd en masse, while simultaneously convincing the indivual listener that the song was written just for them - it's incredible!

The Time Machine Tour was Darren's dream, and he made it a reality - it's a miracle of human determination. Part Pop Concert, part theatrical production, this show causes me to catch my breath again and again. "Casey" alone is enough of a reason to buy this DVD. These are better than the abysmal (imo based on disraeli gears and tea for the tillerman) "back to black" reissues.

both the capitol reissue of ok computer and of pet sounds that i bought today are dead quiet and neither suffer from obvious digitalis. they do not sound as if they were recorded using the cd as the source, which many people have felt about the b to b pressings.

the lead vocal on pet sounds is a tiny bit on the bright side (though it may simply be more revealing of whats there - and my system is extremely revealing and cuts no slack in this direction), but it's not brittle like tea for ... Read More:

Marcin Wasilewski belongs to the best of contemporary European Jazz. There exists a very lively and highly inspirated jazz-scene in Poland since a couple of years. The style of music Marcin Wasilewski performs with his trio, is a very special kind of impressionistic, esthetic Jazz, full of well-done harmonizations. The pieces of music "breath", as one could say. Virtuosity lets the music go, instead of opressing it. Espesially remarkable are, as so often, the compositions of Wasilewski himself like "The First Touch", "The Cat", the title piece of music "January" and "The Young and Cinema". I have this CD and a few others. Every now and then I like to check for new releases. What I would like to know is WHERE ARE THE TRACK SAMPLES???!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM?? I listen to songs before I decide to buy, so if you want to sell a CD, then put them back.

First words of advice after you get this DVD: watch the documentary first. I had read some reviews talking about Phil's lower keys and how this tour was just one big money grab. Wasn't sure what do expect but was somewhat prepared to be dissappointed. So i pick up the dvd and not sure why but played the documentary first. It is not an understatement to say my understanding of the band changed completely. I come from an era where rock stars had way more aura about them, and and Genesis was at the top of that list. If you're of certain age you remember a day before high def TV, home theatre, and xbox, where a bong and a couple of decent speakers and a great album was an escape the is really impossible to put into words today. A really nice album from Elaine. She handles Bill's tunes with great touch and feeling, but with her own personality. The only negative I have is that I wish she had included more of Bill's tunes and less Brazil. But, overall a wonderful addition to anyone's jazz piano collection.

PARIS is the first compilation in the Putumayo series that I really took a shine to. The first cd in the series I heard was ARABIC GROOVE earlier this year but I was bored with it. It wasn't until the PARIS compilation did I realize how great Putumayo series is.

PARIS is a delightful compilation of Parisian music from the Nouvelle Scene (new scene). When I listen to the cd, I feel like I am sitting outside of a Parisian cafe. The music is very mellow. It is a mix of folk and pop with a French twist. Although I do not understand the French language, I nevertheless love listening to the language the artists sings in.
