MCMXC A.D.--Enigma's debut album--was released in 1990. The seven compositions are seamless and play like an extended piece. The material is in a New Age musical direction. The album's sound quality is pleasing. I have always enjoyed listening to this piece of work over the years. Words to characterize MCMXC A.D. would be mysterious, refined, smooth, and creative. I like every one of the tracks. The Gregorian chants, the sounds of the flute, and the pulsating beats are what I find most memorable about this album. The disc is just over 40 minutes. MCMXC A.D. is recommendable.

Part of the reason of The Lord of the Rings movies success is due to the awesome score that Howard Shore has so magnificently created. A trully brilliant piece of art that pulls you into the world of Middle-Earth and keeps you there. You seldom hear genius any more, but this soundtrack is a stunning reminder that it still exists. The music raises its tempo gracefully with its drums without falling. It uses the choir and Celtic influences brilliantly. Each track fits the next like a hand in the glove. The music screams its power to submerse you in the magic of the Lord of the Rings. It gives you the chance to feel like you really were there buried under the mountain resting for eternity. It makes you feel the sadness of the elves, great and eternal ... Read More:

Yes it is early to be making such a list so soon but I would not be surprised if this was on my top ten for the year. I already had two of their previous and thought that I did not need another. But, every time I went to my local cd store the clerks were playing this cd and it has just slowly but surely won me over. This is music that is not easy to find so order it now and enjoy it. It is part King Sunny Ade and part Cuban Allstars and is just plain well done-the Orchestra Baobab way.

I'm investing and gathering all of the Hil St. Soul material. This is a great work and many would otherwise sleep on the songs---never hearing such vocals/production. It's modern day Soul to Soul reminiscing with a flair of the UK and smooth R&B groove. Don't sleep on this on Soulidified or any other CDs. Hil St. Soul gets better with each work. "Make Time For Love" and Relax with Hil St. Soul.

I ordered the CD for one song "Black and Gold" but ended up liking over half of the tracks on the CD. It was a good purchase over all. There is an extra track.

Great sound for Massage...I am a massage therapist. Also great for yoga or meditation. Nothing to abrupt or intrusive. Such a hypnotic sound!! The chanting is much more condusive to relaxation as opposed to some of her stuff with mitten, which is wonderful, but more for easy listening rather than meditative. The non-englsh (Is that a word?) allows you to not attach to the images evoked by our language.

Okay, if I were looking for a CD of music that I enjoy I would not buy this. However, this collection of music is a purchase for my 18 month old daughter - and she LOVES it!
She especially loves hearing the children sing...yes, bad pronunciation and all. What children don't love to hear other children??? I'm not sure what another reviewer was listening to that made her feel the children on the CD's were not enjoying themselves. The children I heard seemed to be having a ball.
The entire collection of songs seem to be very upbeat and fun, without being obnoxious or overdone. Like many other reviewers' children, my daughter has memorized many of the songs. She also loves to flip through her Mother Goose book to find the Nursery Rhyme ... Read More:
Polygram ceased production of its portion of Van-The-Man's catalog, resulting in 29 titles, two-thirds of his entire recorded output, remaining frustratingly unavailable for the past several years. Even more regrettably, sixteen of those OOP titles had been fabulously remastered and re-released in 1998. Accordingly, prices for these had soared, especially for the remastered titles.
Then, in late 2007, The Announcement! All 29 OOP titles would be re-released in 2008! With new remastering! Extra tracks! Even mini-sleeve editions from Japan!
Well, fellow audiophiles and mini-sleeve aficionados, the hyperbole is unfortunately only half-true: Those 16 1998 remastered titles? Except for the bonus tracks, the 2008 re-releases ... Read More:
