I love her music! It's mellow acoustic guitar and she has such a beautiful and sexy voice. I don't know what she's saying but i LOVE the way she says it!!!

This is a compilation of the most stunning lullabies I've ever heard. My daughter is 10 months old, and I can't believe that we just discovered this album now! The other lullaby CDs we own pale in comparison to this CD. I can't imagine anyone not loving the songs on this album as much as we do. But it... you won't regret it.

Let me get this out of the way first; this album isn't as good as their brilliant debut "Inside in/inside out" (nothing here matches "Ooh la", "Naive" or even "I want you back"), but it's still rather good.
The first few times I listened to it, only 2 or 3 songs grabbed me and luckily I didn't write my review then. The album sounded more restrained and not as immediate (it still is) than their debut but it's grown on me.
Lead vocalist Luke Pritchard has a distinctive yelp of a voice which I quite like. The brilliant stomping dance/rock "Do you wanna" (with nice shimmery synths) reminds one of Franz Ferdinand and gets me bopping (his wailing at the end is priceless).
Things are definitely calmer and slower ... Read More:

If you are a true Bob Marley fan, this is the concert that you must have. I first saw this when I was 5 years old and ever since then I have thought that this is one of the best concerts that ever existed. Some of the versions of these songs do not (musically) sound exactly like the originals (like most concerts) but they are still awesome. No pyro, no visual stunts (because after all, they didn't exist)...just pure Marley. In this way, you are able to listen to the actual music and lyrics and begin to understand why he is such an influential artist. He feels his music in such a way that the listener has to feel it too. My personal favorite on this is the final song, Exodus. It has so much energy and personifies Bob as a performer: free, spiritual ... Read More:

....and you're dancing close to the most amazing partner...bodies one...breathing in unison...sliding your leg along your sexy partner's leg.... There isn't anything about this music that is short of sensual and erotic...you can almost feel their hand sliding gently down your neck.......
Reality now hits...urban, gently pulsing, sophisticated, character, soulful, reminiscent, erotic, and sensual are all words to describe this album....
I first heard Santa Maria a few years ago and finally found the artist and album...it does not disappoint!

The Kills-Midnight Boom *****
"I want you to be crazy 'cos you're boring baby when your straight, I want you to be crazy 'cos you're stupid baby when your straight."
To say Midnight Boom is a great album is a severe understatement, and while it is early, it must be said that this is now, and chances are will be at the end of the year, the best of 2008. vocalist Alison "VV" Mosshart tag-teamed with Jamie "Hotel" Hince's original guitar work make The Kills one of modern musics greatest teams. Her soft angelic vocals, aside his recall classic Kim Deal and Francis early Pixies, and Sonic Youth when soulful. Bliss. The techno-blues/punk is one of the most refreshing things ever created, and this their third album is one of the most ... Read More:

This is wonderful music. Much of the music I listen to is "background" music for some other activity. This can be used for that, too (e.g., a nice dinner party), but this is also great just by itself, to sit and listen to. I also play the piano, and I have found it to inspire my own "off-the-cuff" compositions.

I'm not sure I'd put Obzen in the top tier of Meshuggah albums, as the last couple of tracks don't quite hold my attention, and very little can match the rush that came with hearing their early work for the first time.
But even if Obzen isn't the band's best work, it still sees them exploring their own unique sonic territory and pushing boundaries most bands don't even seem to know exist. For listeners who share Meshuggah's odd sense of adventure, this album gets my unreserved recommendation. Five stars for most bands, five for Meshuggah.
