This set is good if you want to learn specific techniques, but not if you want to see recipes cooked from start to finish. The few actual cooking segments are not easy to find and you spend a lot of time going back and forth to the main menu. The set is instructional, but not entertaining. This is the second Laugh and Learn DVD I have watched. My husband and I are using the whole series in lieu of classes since we can't find any in our area.

I thought the DVD was very well done, and it was nice that the presenter worked with real babies rather than dolls. It was a little bit distracting when the first baby cried throughout the demonstration, but I guess that's what it's really like! The presenter demonstrates most of the basics you need to know including the sponge bath, tub bath, hygiene, diaper changes, dressing, swaddling and even how to comb the hair. I teach a college class on the Human Genome Project and always use this as my intro. It gives a good generic background in layman's terms, and then I can easily refer back to it later in class, as "remember in the movie you saw...". I recommend it for ninth grade or older audience, including adults.

My 2 and 4 year old daughters love the Monster Truck segment. As others have stated the production seems pretty low budget. The thing that really drives me crazy is the cheesy music. No one is credited for the music which I'm assuming means it came from the public domain. It really adds to the low budget feel. Overall, it's not bad, but not great either. Thankfully it was a gift, so it didn't cost me anything.

I only recommend this for people with good attention spans. While the teacher is an accomplished pianist with lots of information to offer, he's not very effective at keeping your interest for long periods of time. If you're looking for an upbeat, exciting DVD that will entertain you while its teaching you, don't look here.

Other reviews have covered how great the workout is, and how clear the instruction is. I love the way Ashara combines the smooth buttery moves with the locking and ticking. She blends them into a textural experience. That said, even if you don't like the way the dance looks, this will increase your muscle/body control. I loved the performances and the workout.

First let me say this is an excellent DVD. It gives good usable information. However, if you saw it on a PBS broadcast, then you have seen the whole thing. The extra question and answer session you get when you buy the dvd is not worth paying for, if thats your reason for buying it. I still think it is an excellent dvd to have so you can view it at your leisure to remind yourself of good healthy habits.

This is a good DVD for BEGINNERS. I realize that is what the title says,but even if you have been dancing for a while, you want to learn new techniques for peforming.That is why I bought this. I have been dancing a while now and even though I'm intermediate, I bought this thinking that it might teach me something new. It is a good DVD if you are majorly sweating your first performance,or if you want to put on a show for someone. But if you are not new to the dance it won't teach you much that you don't already know.
