After reading numerous POSITIVE Reviews I thought I would give this CD a shot, as I am also a fan of early 1900's French and Parisian Music... and this CD was extolled to be such....and these were also very romantic times! Well, as we all have broad tastes in music so do I and when I say my tastes are broad, I'm being conservative as about the only thing I don't like is Opera and Rap! Anything else in between usually works! However, not this CD! I've TRIED listening to every track and was, today, on my 3rd-attempt to try and find something about it that I could enjoy! I got up to selection #5 and hit the eject button! To me it was nothing but noise, more noise and then some more!! It's going on eBay tomorrow for 1-cent plus shipping! ... Read More:

Brings back some very great memories for me, but left off my favorite Pumpkins tune - Mayonaise!!! Why does it seem like the record companies always leave off one of the best songs on every Greatest Hits album for any band? Nevertheless, a good taste of one of my favorite groups in the 1990's.

Frankly, the music of Sufjan Stevens is a bit too twee and precious for my everyday tastes, but I'll be the first to admit that he comes close to touching something that exists in all of us -- that innate and intangible sense of "place" and "home" the likes of which famed authors John Steinbeck and Thomas Wolfe respectively attempted to dispel and recapture. This is more than simple reportage and anecdote; it's nothing less than a youthful attempt to get one's arms around the unifying spirit of, what seems obvious to Stevens, this "nation under God" -- something for both believers and agnostics to appropriately ponder.

Overall, a great rock album, showcases Jim James' and the bands diversity within the rock genre, Well mastered. Jim James' vocals are lodged in your head and the band has a certain Jam element that I love. The perfect sounds of the keyboards as well as the arrangements and the variety of Jim's vocals make it special. I would give it 4.5 out of 5.

I saw Innerpartysystem a couple months ago based on a friends recommendation, and I have been anticipating the release of this album ever since. This album is just solid from start to finish and will make you want to get up and dance, hit the gym, or just have a wild good time! Highlights for me are- Die Tonight Live Forever, Don't Stop, Obsession, and Heart of Fire. One of my favorites of 2008.

This is probably one of the better albums of the decade so far; most likely top 25 for sure. The 5th track: "All My Friends" is a brilliant 7 1/2 minute epic that, by itself, is worth the price of the album. It does have a weak moment(s) in the title track "Sound of Silver" and to some extend "Watch the Tapes" which are both decent songs but have a tough act to follow after the genius of track 5 and the impressive track 6. I recommend this album for sure. I also recommend that you listen with head phone as you'll pick up on much of James Murphy's subtleties.

I just bought this cd a few days ago off of amazon because I heard Fall For You on the radio and fell in love with it. All I can say is that the whole cd has been on repeat on my ipod. I cannot get enough of John's soothing voice and great lyrics. Reminds me of Dashboard Confessional which I LOVE as well. I also bought A Twist in my story..another great cd. I def reccomend both cds!

I know that these guys were one of the indie darlings in 2007 but I didn't get into this album until 2008. However, I am glad that I did. The album is a great mix of songs of varying tempos, and the 9 songs on it feel like just the right amount.

The first two songs are really great up-tempo numbers, with the second song, Unless Its Kicks, the real highlight of the album. The lyrics are fantastic, with each song telling a unique story and repetitive lyrics and choruses typically avoided. The writing is very clever this way as it really sounds more like stories rather than the typical verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus routine.
