This album is simply beautiful. IMO, Smashing Pumpkins is one of the great bands that came out of the 90s and honestly, no band today can compare to what Smashing Pumpkins was able to do. Their music is so distinctive and unique that you know when it's a Smashing Pumpkins song you're listening to.

Some of the songs on this album: Disarm, Today, Rocket, Cherub Rock, and Mayonaise. Frankly, the entire album is awesome, you can't go wrong buying this album as all the songs are incredible. I'll just give a few thoughts of a few of the songs I mentioned.

Five years to the day after her eponymous 2003 release, this English/American songwriter graced upon the world Thirteens, the culmination of the thirteen lo-fi albums she recorded since her last.

I bought this album, which was released September 16th, on the heels of two let-downs I'd bought the week prior, so I was hoping for something substantial. I was not disappointed: from the first track, I knew this girl was for real. I've been listening to a lot of female artists lately, and unfortunately too many of their sophomore efforts have been over-produced, unoriginal radio-pop crap.

Wrecking Ball

I have seen this band live 3 times now. Amazing performance each time. This disc captures some of the raw, magnetic power that is Dead Confederate. No disc will ever do their live show justice.

Track Reviews
1) Heavy Petting (9/10) - A great rocking curtain jerking track to start this album off right.

2) The Rat (10/10) - This is the song that created the DC buzz. A rerecord from the earlier EP version. I like both recordings, but once again, this one does more justice to the live DC sound.

3) Goner (10/10) - DC had the demo for this song on their myspace page for while. This rerecord is better than the demo and this song just plain rocks with a slight southern twang.

I just love this cd! i am new to Christian music and just started listening to it on the radio. i wanted to get some of my own and i know almost every song on this cd! this is a great CD and very inspirational! i find myself singing these songs while i am running down the road! very upbeat and wonderful! this was a great purchase!

I bought this blind from Amazon, based on the reviews, and having never heard of the band before. I was so impressed, I bought their first two albums.

The music is certainly derivative, but if somebody makes a new painting that looks like a Dali, then well -- it looks GOOD because Dali was good, and to heck with those who decry the lack of originality. I actually saw this CD on an endcap display at Best Buy, of all places, and for people who buy CD's at Best Buy this might well sound original. It gets the "Beatle-esque" branding, though it reminds me more of solo Lennon, and there's a detectable love for Brian Wilson here as well, but the Bowie influence on their earlier records seems to have run dry. With the release of Shudder by New York band Bayside, we get a new taste of the band. Going into the studio, the band intended a more punk sound on this album as opposed to their previous works. While it is not The Clash, The Ramones, or The Dead Kennedys, it does fall into what the music world today defines as punk rock.

Let me start with the bad, which is greatly outweighed by the good. Upon listening to the first track "Boy", we get a song that really gets you moving. The flaw we see here comes from vocalist Anthony Raneri. At one point in the song (2:45), we hear his voice take on what I heard described as a Josh Caterer impression (Caterer vocalist of Bayside influence Smoking Popes). Wincing the Night Away

I loved their first two records and I've gone to one of their shows (they were awesome), so I made sure to give this record a long time to warm up on me. Of course, I loved the single, I had very high hopes for this record. I didn't like it so much when I first listened through the record, but I thought that I would grow to love it over time. I've listened through it several times since then, and I still can't see why this would be considered a better record than Oh, Inverted World or Chutes Too Narrow. When compared to a lot of other bands out there, Wincing... is far better than anything most current bands have ever done. Saturdays=Youth

The presence of a Boy George wanna-be and a Molly Ringwald clone on the cover ought to be a major tip-off that "Saturdays=Youth" is M83's loving (and only semi-ironic) tribute to the 1980s and to the movies of that decade's leading youth-cinema auteur, John Hughes.

But this is no mere exercise in lame nostalgia. M83 (actually Anthony Gonzalez) treats his subjects - youthful heartbreak and teenage drama - with more affection and reverence than winking condescension. And as a bonus, the songs and production are thrillingly good - from the waves of glossy synths and whispery vocals to the electronic punch of the drum machines.

Not only is the movie one of my faves but so is the soundtrack. I have an addiction to buying soundtracks and this one tops the list of my many. Its so good I'm using a few of the tracks for my wedding.
