Many seem to want to compare Paul Potts to the great opera tenors past and present and point out that he is not technically as proficient as they are/were. These observations may be true, they may be opinion, they may be irrelevant seeing how most of the songs on One Chance are NOT from operas though sung in an operatic style. I, for one, couldn't care less how he ranks with opera snobs. I'd bet the majority who bought his album don't care either. Paul Potts' claim to fame is that he delivers a song in such a way that it can move people to tears and make the hair on your arms stand up. This is his greatest talent (though I do also consider him a truely gifted vocalist with a long career ahead of him). The underdog story just makes the ... Read More:

Michael Buble's style puts a smile on my face. While this EP (extended play -- shorter than a full-length CD) may not be as complete as Josh Groban's delightful Noel, this swings sweetly. The opener "Let It Snow..." swings with a peppy beat. Mel Torme's classic "The Christmas Song" wears well here with Michael's rendition. David Foster's "Grown Up Christmas List" that Natalie Cole first brought to my attention is a lovely melody which Michael polishes into my favorite track on this set, "No more lives torn apart, that wars would never start & time would heal all hearts." "I'll Be Home for Christmas is slow & sentimental." "White Christmas" concludes the set of studio recordings with an easy groove & Buble's voice soft & luscious. ... Read More:

Way FUN and performed by the ORIGINAL artists!! I can listen to this over & over while I clean the house. This is excellent for a Halloween get-together! Best money I spent on a Halloween soundtrack!
Release Date October 24, 2006
The Nightmare Before Christmas basically defines Halloween, what better way to have Halloween with you always then this CD? Load onto your iPod and it's good to go. The 3D cover art is really cool along with both CD's. The first CD is the original soundtrack and it's pretty much amazing. From The Overture to The End Title all the music is fantastic and clear as crystal. The second CD is remixes and demos. Most of the remixes are really cool. The only two I don't like are Sally's Song by Fiona Apple and Kidnap The Sandy Klaws by She Wants Revenge. I prefer Catherine O'Hara's version of Sally's Song and Kidnap The Sandy Klaws sounds way better when the cast sings it. All in all a great CD from a great movie. If your a fan of the movie, don't miss out! Buy ... Read More:

When I heard Casting Crowns was releasing a Christmas CD, I couldn't wait. I love their music for taking the familiar and making me look at it in a fresh way. So when I got this CD I was a little disappointed with the play list. It is mostly familiar carols. But once I started listening to it, that feeling went away.
Yes, the familiar carols are here and are plentiful. Yet they sound beautiful. There are gorgeous harmonies on "O Come All Ye Faithful." The guitar is fun on "Joy to the World." "Sweet Little Jesus Boy" gets a new melody. With a string background, it sounds like a lullaby. And the instrumental version of "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" is absolutely breathtaking. It is written for violin but the interplay between it and the ... Read More:

One of my favorite CDs of all time is Bela's Perpetual Motion. Unfortunately, that is the only time I have honestly enjoyed his work.
I am not jazz-insider enough to appreciate the nuances on this CD. I'm sure it is probably brilliant and progressive, but most of the time to me it is just a lot of noise. The Tuvan throat singing is clever for the first 30 seconds, but my God, it goes on forever and just ended up annoying me.
The two Charlie Brown songs are pleasant enough. I was very intrigued by River, since Bela plays the banjo and the piano at the same time, but it really sounds like...he is playing the banjo and the piano at the same time. Really, they look like great guys and clearly had fun making this music. Unfortunately, ... Read More:

These are without question the most wonderful female voices I've heard! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. I have seen them live and loved every minute of it. They're awesome!! The harmony, staging, and everything about their production is first class.
