With each new album that Jars of Clay has released I have always found myself quite pleased with the results. For the first time this is not the case. I was quite disappointed with this release.

I believe most, if not all, of this disappointment came from an expectation that Jars would use their talents to create new contemporary takes on classic carols. What I found was a collection of carols so changed from the originals that with out the familiar lyrics I would of had no idea that these were well known Christmas carols that I had heard throughout my life.

I thought the movie was good, but I was disapointed with the rating. I think the sexual scene was downplayed in the PG13 rating, i.e. "a little bit of sexual nudity"..I would not want any children watching that scene, it was obvious sexual intercourse.I think it should have had an R rating instead.

In one of those rare moments in life, my mother actually introduced me to George Winston's music when I was in high school. Most of the music I listened to at the time was metal and punk music. George Winston was an antithesis to everything I listened to still his music was very relaxing to listen to. DECEMBER is easily my favorite Winston cd.I like that the music was just George playing the piano. His music isn't bogged down by other instruments which would have easily drowned out his piano playing. I love listening to DECEMBER at any time of the year although there are some Christmas carols. I find George's delicate piano melodies quite relaxing. No matter how old DECEMBER is, the music never gets old with me. I still love the cd after all these years.

Disney's Princess Christmas Album

I consider myself a pretty hardcore Disney fan. As an adult with no children I usually buy this sort of thing for myself and I enjoy it tremendously.

I'll be honest here, while I do purchase almost all of the music I own, I will sample music via "shared" MP3s online from time to time. Especially with Disney now a days, the Princess franchise hits all kinds of highs and lows. There is no guarantee anymore that Disney automatically equals quality. I found a webpage online that enabled me to sample the first 8 tracks of this album in their entirety. I dodged a bullet here. Obviously some of the original princess voices actors are no longer living, and that's not to beheld against this album. In past sequel films they've made some decent replacement choices. ... I bought this item as a gift for someone who is an avid player of Dungenos and Dragons. It was right up their alley. I was pleasantly surprised by this music. They composers have made a delightlful blend of classical and Gothic music, that sounds like a track from a classic horror movie. This is not something I would normally listen to, but I found it rather enjoyable. I bought this along with a selection from Midnight Syndicate, which is a similar style, and equally enjoyable.

I really liked this 2 cd collection because it contains one cd with modern contemporary music and one cd with the older classics. So depending on your mood or the people you are with, there is something to please everyone. In my opinion, it was worth the purchase.
