I fell in love with the tape when I first heard it and have listened to the cassette for years and I'm finally getting around to ordering the cd. I found the music to be very soothing. Wish I could play like that!

"Sharing Auras" is Shirley Cason's sixth release and contains eleven very personal original compositions that convey a variety of moods and emotions. Performed on keyboards, this is Cason's first album in four years, due in part to the loss of her best friend of twenty-five years. Some of the pieces on this CD express sadness, but others are more joyful - all are very loving. I have enjoyed reviewing all of Cason's CDs, but I think this is my favorite. Also a songwriter, Cason has included lyrics for some of these pieces in the CD's liner notes and on her website (everything on the recording is instrumental), adding another dimension to the music. It is suggested that this CD be used for relaxation, healing, massage, and Reiki, but I think just ... Read More:

Steven Halpren and The SOund Machine have put together and awesome album. It's fun to listen to and has a great beat. Slightly jazzy but not irritating to the ears as some are.
I love his stuff but this is fast becoming my favorite!

I just got this CD yesterday, and have listened to it 4 times already - I am just astounded by the magic Evenson and Barabas created! I have been a new age fanatic since before it was called new age (from the early 80's), and have over 100 CD's of this type of music. 'Back to the Garden' is at the top of the heap, if not at the very top.
The beauty of this CD lies in the fact that each song weaves you in and out of a trance, without digressing to 'relaxation' music that so much new age is turning into...mind you, it is relaxing, however the focus is on a musical atmosphere. All of the instruments are *balanced* so well, unlike other artists who make their main instrument the forefront.
I have been a fan of Tom Barabas for ... Read More:

After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, this album is more poignant than ever. A beautifully, soothing soundscape with a decidedly Native American bent. I first heard Krishna Das on a You Tube video. Luckily someone had left a message as to who was singing. Krishna Das was a disciple of Indian holy man Neem Karoli Baba in the early 70's. He brought back to America a love of Hindu devotional songs, or kirtans. The music on this two CD set should be in everyone's collection. Krishnas Das sings in a lower register with some backing by a chorus of mostly female voices. Many of the songs repeat the lyrics over and over, which gives them the feeling of chanting a mantra. Hanuman Chaleesa on the first CD is worth the price of admission alone. Run out and get this music.

This is a superior background for Yoga asana practice, combining soothing and satisfying earthiness with just enough instrumental flowerings to be interesting. As a Yoga teacher, this is the CD I reach for over and over to provide my students with a nourishing and soulful backdrop to their explorations of posture and breath. This would be excellent for massage or energy work as well.
