When I went to the music store and bought this cd, i was excited to hear the sound that everybody was in love with for 40 years. I threw it in my cd player and liked it but thought it sounded a little poppy and not really like the other psychedelic rock bands i had heard. As always i opened up the cd case and pulled out the artwork and the first words i read were "This is not the cd that has been around for 40 years." I kinda freaked out because automatically i labeled the cd i had just bought as junk. So I read a little bit more and realized that this is how the doors were "Supposed to sound." I am serious. I have never heard an album so perfect and so hauntingly beautiful. This is what MANY genres should aspire to; to be the best at what they do.
In a way this album transcends many musical types, many emotions, and many expressions, but it never seems faked or false.
Many lines will touch you. Whether you're male or female. Gay, straight, or bi, you've been here; at least in some way.
If you think any of this sounds like something that would interest you, please don't hesitate. This group of songs will become a crush, and then a love affair.
This is the best of 2007. No second guessing on that for me.

An excellent and quite a complete portrait of Blondie's career, not only highly recommended for newcomers (who will get to know the most important reference for all of today's female pop super-mega-stars...), but also quite a good compilation for those unconditional fans as all the songs here have been carefully remastered, providing a new cristal-clear sound to Blondie's classics worth being heard.

As they always did, Debbie Harry's vocals stand out masterfully over a melting pot of wonderful rhythms and styles, making this a unique band over the last three decades.

It also works fairly just as what it is: a Greatest Hits compilation. No rarities. No B sides. No new songs. No strings attached.

Worth the money.

Re-issue CD's like this are an excellent idea! Interesting liner notes, great photos, excellent sound make these packages ideal. Most important it reminds us music fans what we saw and heard in U2 from the beginning!

I chose to buy this CD instead of the soundtrack for "She's the Man".

I'm so glad I did!

I got three tracks I have heard in this movie and others ("Firehouse Dog", and "A Cinderella Story"), plus I got to hear their non-movie tracks.

Good stuff from a band I would not have otherwise heard of.

Rubber Factory

I learned about The Black Keys 6 months ago and started with their debut album and bought everything except their latest to date. If I was going to recommend an album to start with, it would be Rubber Factory. I am a big fan of the White Stripes, and hearing these guys played as a two piece intrigued me. They have surpassed my expectations.

The music is raw blues, with some rocking riffing tunes stuck in. This CD has been on heavy rotation in my house and truck ever since. Thickfreakness is also very solid, I can't get "Midnight in Her Eyes" out of my head - but that's ok.

The Sufferer & the Witness

Upon listening to the album and reading the lyrics alongside, I have realized that the Sufferer and the Witness is a fantastic album. An opinion not formed upon previous material, Siren Song the Counter Culture being the popular example, I found that Rise Against have created thirteen tracks all of which are great, the majority of them brilliant. The fast pace is one factor, though slower songs the Approaching Curve and Roadside come off to wonderful effect, the passion, the lyrics and the hardcore raw sound are all parts that make this album excellent. The range of topics on show complete the songs, from personal to political, the videos Ready to Fall and Prayer of the Refugee being prime examples and the aforementioned Approaching Curve.

Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge

I heard The Black Parade for at least a year, always complaining extensively about it, then suddenly realized how great it was. It was sudden and completely unexpected. I guess I just had to get used to the very dark and somewhat violent lyrics. But I have to say, now My Chemical Romance is one of my favorite bands ever. I heard about Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and got it since I was such a great (if late) fan of the other CD. At first I wasn't that impressed. But by the second time over I heard it, I was already convinced it could compete with The Black Parade. However, I don't think I would recognize it immediately as My Chemical Romance as based on their other CD. For one thing, on average, it's a much heavier CD, (for example, here you don't have any songs like Cancer, with just piano, or ... Read More:
