The original Boy album is a great CD and the remastering is well done here with a lot of muddled aspects of the original cleaned up. But this deluxe 2CD set is definitely not for the casual fan and not worth the money. The second disc has only noteworthy moments. The early versions of "Stories for boys" and "Out of control" are interesting for a true U2 fan. As is the song "Saturday night". But "Boy-girl" and "Cartoon world" are horrible. The live version of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock is forgettable. Basically, this 2CD set offers interesting insight into the beginnings of U2. But for the casual fan, I would recommend buying the single disc, since even I, a big U2 fan, will not be throwing the second disc in the player all that often.

This really made my funny bone tickle when it came out. It's kinda funny cause every song is great but it's not even 30 minutes long. Don't get me wrong, this os a really great album, but it only has 28 minutes of music on it. This is a really good release by the best band ever, but you should also buy all of their ohter albums. Hash Pipe Roks!

I like these songs, doesn't have everything I want, but what collection does? U2's Great success has continued: (Billboard Boxscore, and Ray Waddell of Billboard magazine): The Worldwide "U2 Vertigo Tour" played March 28,2005 to Dec 9, 2006 and earned $389,047,816 from 131 shows - 4,619,021 tickets sold - tour producer Arthur Fogel of Live Nation - $96.92 average North America ticket price (from Poillstar) This type of popularity and earned success doesn't come around everyday: Senator Hillary Clinton has it: In the 2008 Presidential Primary race, Hillary Clinton not only earned more votes than any of her rivals, she earned more votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in the history of America (and earned 311 electoral votes, to her Party's ... I listen to "Starman", then I listen to it again, then I get addicted to that song, then I can't stop listening to it. I will listen to it 10 or 15 times in a row. "Starman" is indeed waiting in the sky, I believe.

While I've enjoyed every U2 album (there's even redemption in at least half of their "Pop" album from the 1990s), The Joshua Tree is what got me into the band originally and is what I consider their first masterpiece. Achtung, Baby and then How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb eventually followed as triumphs, but this box set was a delightful gift to have received. Sure, I owned the Joshua Tree already, but after 20 years it's a bit worn out and the remastered versions are crisp and clear. The packaging is nice, although I don't need such a thick box just to hold a booklet and a couple of CDs/DVDs.
The book that is included makes for a great companion to the CD and the DVD of the Joshua Tree Tour show from Paris is actually very high quality, along ... Read More:

After listening through this album, I have to say...
This is the CD for the consumer who has no taste in music and prefers to be spoon-fed tunes from last decade. Instead of spending money on this, buy a ticket to a real show. Visit your local bar for details.
In a positive light, I can say that this album is nostalgic, so it's up to you. It almost definitely reflects the repertoire on your local "rock" radio station.

I just bought this cd a few days ago off of amazon because I heard Fall For You on the radio and fell in love with it. All I can say is that the whole cd has been on repeat on my ipod. I cannot get enough of John's soothing voice and great lyrics. Reminds me of Dashboard Confessional which I LOVE as well. I also bought A Twist in my story..another great cd. I def reccomend both cds!

A lot of people said that this band would fall by the wayside after Josh Scogin, Daniel Davison and a couple of other members decided to move along and pursue other interests. Still Cory Branden and co. managed to bring about a very strong release in 'Norma Jean vs. The Anti-Mother.' Fueled by a loose concept and collaborations (not just guest appearances), strong lyrics and a newly-discovered experimental edge, it's easy to see why most scene kids would bad mouth NJ's latest release: Norma Jean finally stepped out of their comfort zone... but not without taking some of their tried-and-true formulas with them and concocting some insanely new material.
What surprises me the most is not how Norma Jean has matured musically but how MUCH they've matured ... Read More:

The music on this album is fantastic. In my review on As Blood Runs Black I said: "Some artists are such amazing musicians that they can screw originality and they can play other people's original ideas twice as well as the original artist. This is what As Blood Runs Blacks does for the first 4 songs." This is basically what As I Lay does, except for the entire frickin' album! There isn't a song on the entire album that I don't like. I felt the same thing about August Burns Red. Both albums are amazing at keeping my interest for the entire album. Their lyrics are also very good. So, with all the praise i have given As I Lay Dying, what is wrong with this album?? My problem is that you can not figure out what in the world Tim Lambesis is saying. What the vocalists ... i will admit it. this was my first modest mouse cd. i had heard "float on" on the radio, or something and liked the name of the band, so i figured "why not?" the art was interesting, there was a solid single in circulation, i had heard good things...
i popped in the disc, listened to it a couple of times. i liked the first couple of tracks. especially float on [to this day, its still a great song.] all the way up to the track "bury me with it" [which is actually an amazing song.]
but all in all...i didnt actually like the cd. nothing really struck my interest.
anyway, that was then.
i believe this came out around 2004. after coming back to it a few times, here we are in 2008, and i am madly in love with modest mouse. i have slowly been building my collection ... Read More:
