I can't believe it's taken me 12 years before writing this review. What I am glad of though is that I didn't write this within a year of buying "Evil Empire"; when this came out in 1996, I - like many - was expecting a bombastic array of accessible riffage, heavy ranting and slick production similar to RATM's debut. What we got however was a grimy, dark and sinister effort that better showed off RATM's hiphop and punk influences. This was a shock. And it probably explains why it took me a while to get into. Now however, I listen to this album with a huge amount of satisfaction. Everything about it is great: Zack de la Rocha's voice is so aggressive, so vitriolic and just so downright convincing; the guitars and bass (oh, the BASS!) tap ... Read More:

First of all, I own the VHS of Live After Death. They put on one heck of a monster show, one can not expect anything less of Iron Maiden. The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sound quality is something to be desired. But of course I do own the "original" release. I do not know what the soud quaility is of the CD version. But, all in all, this sould definatly be a part of any Maiden fan collection. UP THE IRONS!

And who could possibly hate that???????? Inspired by the death of his Roomate Andy Wood , Cornell delivers with a masterpiece "Say Hello To Heaven"

Back in the very early days of what was the called Rock & Roll, guys like Elvis and Bill Haley and the Comets, "Rock" was kind of a big band boogie kind of affair. For me at least it wasn't really Rock until a little trio from Texas came along called Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Rock was pared down to its bones, a bass, a guitar and drums, with edgy lyrics that people didn't know exactly what to do with.
In that fine tradition came this little band from Texas, and a new generation of Tex Rock was born. After its release, Tres Hombres was the one album that always got played at any party I went to in High School, and all the guys thought of themselves as Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers. At one dance at my school, the band was playing "La Grange" and I didn't ... Read More:

The first time I heard this record back in 1971 when it was first released
my ears were opened. I was into the blues and was blown away with the duel lead guitars that Dickie Betts and Duane Allman played so well.
When I look back and evaluate who the great guitar players in Rock history are I have to include Duanne Allman among the very best.
It is as Eric Clapton once said "We were coming at the same thing from a different direction, I was bending strings and Duanne was playing slide.
Duanne Allman to this day is still possibly the best slide player I have ever heard. Ironically Derek Trucks is probably the best I have heard recently, ironically both from the Allman Brothers.
This Album is an abbreviated version of the classic live CD. If you ... Read More:
