This band is average. If you think any different you are a loser. Every album sounds the same. I own all the original albums. I would never see this band live, but I like some of their studio albums. I think this is the last album I buy from them. They all sound the same. Their best album I think is 2001. Love that album. Very pop sounding with Arron Lewis on vocals for a song. This album isn't bad, but it's more of the same. I thought it would be better given some of the guests on it.

Karmacode

Lacuna Coil changes their style a little bit with each album. Comalies was gothy, which was a good fit for Lacuna Coil's tendency to drag in the lower notes at times. Karmacode still has a small touch of goth but it's is heavy on the bass guitar and the female vocals have an Indian sound. Each song is fairly different from the other so it's likely that you'll love half the album and dislike the other half, but not in the same way as somebody else. Give it a listen.

Machine Head have had a bit of an up-and-down career, with a few missteps along the way, but when they're firing on all cylinders, you better get out of their way. Leader and vocalist Robb Flynn, possibility the angriest metaller out there right now, is a superb songwriter, which is too often overlooked in metal circles, with many outfits getting attention with unimaginative repetitive riffs and singers who sound like they're suffering from a bad case of irritable bowel syndrome.
Flynn does his share of growling, but also provides clear vocals and harmonies, which add the one element modern metal needs the most, dynamics. Not that "The Blackening" is a wimped out affair. This slab is heavy - like the Titanic sinking in your living room ... Read More:

This is an extraordinary work in so many ways that it is difficult to believe the Birthday Massacre are the same band I have been listening to on their prevous album Violet. Just about everything has gotten better. The songwriting and keyboards are two aspects I would point out as close to perfect. But especially important is that the vocalist, Chibi, has come into her own as a singer of darkly romantic music. She is also quite striking and knows how to shake it onstage; check out the video for "Looking Glass" if you want proof.

The Birthday Massacre played here in Arkham not long ago, but I missed it because I got an ear infection. How ironic is that?

Wisconsin Death Trip

Amazing not one bad thing about this album. Great variety, it's different from anything out right now, heavy sounds with a side of industrial makes it that much better. Best X album there is. I highly suggest you buy it.

Dead Heavy Day

So, Poisonblack started as a side project of Villa's, but when Sentenced decided to call it quits, Villa chose to do Poisonblack full time. Their first album, Escapextacy was excellent, and J.P. did a wonderful job on the vocals. Lust Stained Despair had some pretty good hits but overall felt lacking. Now they just released A Dead Heavy Day and I couldn't be more excited. 90% of this album is excellent and the other 10% is pretty good. There isn't one song here that I wouldn't listen to and be happy to do such. The best of this album are all the songs in the middle, tracks 3 to 9 and especially "A Dead Heavy Day", "Me, Myself, and I", and "X" are the best this has to offer. Great Movie and Excellent Soundtrack! Both the first and second Matrix movies (Matrix and Matrix Reloaded) have the best music complementing the action scenes and invoking memories when listening to the respective soundtracks. Haven't been too pleased with the Matrix Revelations soundtrack though. Therefore, if you love this trilogy, get at least the first two music CDs to add to the experience. You won't be sorry!

It's been six years since I ordered this Cd from Amazon, and I love this Cd even today in 2008. Midnight Syndicate has done a very good job on this. Yes, it has less sound effects, but that is to be expected, because, as the title suggests, these are symphonies, and you can add your own Halloween sound effects to accompany these dark symphonies from the crypt. All the tracks on this Cd, with your own Halloween Sound effects, as well as your own spooky poetry are guaranteed to make your hair stand on end, and have sweat rolling down your neck. Also, if you listen to this for Halloween, you'll be getting screams of terror from the kids and adults for years to come. This is a great Cd to add to your scary music collection. Highly recommended. Buy it...if you dare.

I was worried when Zombie dissolved White Zombie.
Those worries were swept away as I heard the first track.
A brilliant album and easily the best of the three.
Not really any weak tracks. Not the usual Satan nonsense.
More like Scooby Doo scary.
Fun, frightening, and memorable.
A must for metal fans. Not a landmark by any means, but still a great addition to your metal library.
