Not much can be said about this that hasn't been said before.Yes,it is dark and intense and explores the deepest parts of the psyche but i don't think this is necessarily a bad thing.I think this album can be very therapeutic in a way to help release built up emotions.Embrace the way you feel when you listen to this album as it is in all of us humans."The Downward Spiral" is an emotional rollercoaster and is well worth the ride if you stay on till the end.I got this cd when it first came out and it STILL gets regular play at my house.Buy,cheat,or steal a copy of this if you have to.Just get it whatever you do!
Release Date October 10, 2006
Not only is the movie one of my faves but so is the soundtrack. I have an addiction to buying soundtracks and this one tops the list of my many. Its so good I'm using a few of the tracks for my wedding.
Release Date June 10, 2008
As a long time, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me era, fan of The Cure, I didn't know what to make of the first single "The One One". With "Freakshow" however, everything came together with the band firing on all cylinders. You can even hear the impact of returning genius guitarist Porl Thompson as he cuts lose. Oh and I loved the cow bell an added touch by a still great band who will go on as long as we are willing to listen and be Cured.....

"Year Zero" is like NIN"s "Piscies Iscariot". Its good stuff, but it sounds like B-sides. The only tracks I really like are the final three-Another Version of the Truth, In This Twilight, and Zero Sum. Does not rank with other NIN albums, sorry.
Release Date September 21, 1999
No other main release NIN album has stuck me the way this one has. I won't speak for the mix albums. >,> It feels like listening to this album that every song on both CD's save the transition pieces are worthy of topping the charts. This isn't exactly made for radio either though. It breaks typical forms in favor of the progressive. Add to that Reznor sings with incredible energy. His latest radio play just seems simple in comparison without the climax found here.

This compilation is a great way to connect with their music. The bonus DVD features an accoustic set that compliments the tracks on the CD. (The reason I purchased this on CD from Amazon and not iTunes is because of the DVD).
Five stars because I relate to the obvious influences of Alice in Chains and think the DVD's drum duet with Sully and Shanon Larkin is worth the price alone. If you need a further fix and already have all of Godsmack's stuff, check out Another Animal (which is Godsmack minus Sully and instead Ugly Kid Joe's Whitfield Crane).
Play it loud!

This review is meant for folks who wouldn't consider themselves hard-core fans, but who are interested in The Cure.
80's Alternative remains my music of choice even in 2008. I've always been a fan of The Cure, but wouldn't have called myself "hard-core" - up until this album I owned only four Cure albums. I pulled out KISS ME KISS ME KISS ME to introduce The Cure to a friend belonging to the generation below mine (I'm an X-er), who loves current dark, brooding Alternative music. I explained that The Cure did for Alternative music what Led Zeppelin did for Rock music, and invited him to explore the roots of Alternative. Not having listened to the album in a while, and feeling sort of reintroduced to it myself, I got a hankerin' ... Read More:

Sorry folks, have to report the truth. Particularly on tracks like "The Great Destroyer", which sound here like what the original should sound like. It just sounds deeper, more cohesive, and is a better album. I know people hate to hear it, but the remix album has surpassed the original here, sorry.

"Nemo" was the first song I heard from Nighwish back in '04. My friend was e-mailing me, and sent me the song. Since then, I bought the album two years later, and still treaure it today. I really don't have favorites, but I agree that this was their breakthrough to American soil. Here are some immortal songs:
Dark Chest of Wonders (Anette's version is amazing!)
Nemo (my conversion song...)
Planet Hell (epic and soundtrack worthy!)
Creek Mary's Blood (very diverse, but touching and stunning!)
The Siren (loved this in Vegas!)
Ghost Love Score (Toumas should compose with a song like this!)
This is the album to convert your friends with, since its more soundtrack like and gripping. I'm glad their ... Read More:
