I think what this band is trying to do is bridge the gap between progressive rock, and death metal on this album. At times it sounds like prog rock, at other times death metal.

A fan of prog rock and death metal would probably like this. However if only one of those is your preferred genre, you'll probably hate it.

I myself think they show a lot of talent as musicians, but they aren't legendary. If you want a legendary guitarist, listen to Dream Theater or Symphony X for your prog rockers. For you death metal people, I'd suggest some Deicide.

Good soundtrack but what was the point if none of these songs were in the movie. If they were, they must have been in the background, at a very low volume. I just don't get it.

Well from my star rating, yes! Yes it is. But seriously not the best. If you like club type remixes of politically energized songs then this will suite you just fine. I mean .... it's Nine Inch Nails, heck yea!!!

Many people dislike this album, saying it's disjointed and underproduced. I feel these terms are misnomers for the truth behind this album.

To me, the album is a refreshing return to the early days of this band...days which found the band in one room, playing live, and figuring out their parts. It's a much more dynamic album with less production than more recent Cure albums. After listening to the lush soundscapes of Disintegration, Wish, and Bloodflowers, "THE CURE" sounds more in line with the production values of Seventeen Seconds and Pornography. Although synth instrumentation is evident, it doesn't overtake any of the songs. Much of the instrumentation can be attributed to simply guitar, bass, and drums. The Cure is one of the rare few bands that has been around for twenty some years and not look or sound like some outdated dinosaur like every hair metal band who are trying to resurrect their sagging careers in recent years. One of my all time favorite albums is by The Cure (i.e DISINTEGRATION). I am finally getting around to check out the band's other albums, prior and after DISINTEGRATION.

KISS ME, KISS ME, KISS ME is my first foray into the band's past. Having loved PORNOGRAPHY, DISINTREGATION, and BLOODFLOWERS so much, it was a bit hard for me to letting go of the band's dark, atmospheric sounds on those albums but I eventually did. Not as impressive as previous vnv albums but overall a good record nonetheless. I wouldn't put the entire album on repeat but theres some good songs that make it worthwhile.

The first time I heard this CD I thought it was quite OK. The more I listen
to it, the more I love it!
My favorites songs are #1 (by The Cruxshadows), #9 (by Behind the Scenes), #12 (by Lunascape) and # 17 (by Corvus Corax), but all of them are good.
Good for dancing, good as ambiance music for a party, good for reading, some of the songs are even good for meditation... Very versatile.
