I had heard songs like "Black" and "Too Close To Hate" before I had purchased the cd, but it was barely scratching the surface. Once I heard the rest, I found it hard to believe that this was the same Sevendust that put out hit songs like "Waffle" and "Praise." It is in fact the exact same line-up that went on to record three more albums together before guitarist Clint Lowery left (he has recently returned). By no means is this a nu-metal album, but than again, I never thought of the band that way. Unlike their other releases, this one is the most angry, and has a sound that kinda reminds me of the permeating groove metal of bands like Pantera and Machine Head. First and Last and Always

This album made me fall in love with old-school Goth music. Deep bass vocals, simple yet adequate music, great lyrics, but my biggest peeve are the drowned-out lyrics, which seems to be par with most music. Despite that last gripe you'll find they did a great job with this album.

Everything I had hoped for from the Tones and more. Makes you miss the
halcyon days in which this lively and innovative music was made. A great job
of packaging too - a really solid collection including the pop stuff and
the fun oddities.

If you like Rammstein (and Richard Z. Kruspe!) you'll probably like Emigrate. It's quite a bit different since it's in English, but any Rammstein fan will notice interesting similarities. And if you're not a Rammstein fan (yet!) you will still love Emigrate because it's new and different.

Beautiful Death

I have been a fan of Bella Morte for almost a decade now, and I have to say that this is my favorite album from the boys in years. You owe it to yourself to buy a copy if you like pure, unadulterated musical excellence. I'm hearing a lot of the older style vocals from Remains and Where Shadows Lie, but the harder music from As the Reasons Die and Bleed the Grey Skies Black is still there.

I honestly cannot recommend this album enough!

The White Room / Justified & Ancient

The KLF had a brief career yet extremely high-impact on the dance music scene during the late 1980s and early 1990s. With their innovative use of stadium crowd sound effects, their music could very well be a form of "stadium house". Their 1991 album "The White Room" is the soundtrack to a film of the same name, a film I have yet to see. Yet despite all that, "The White Room" is simply among the most magnificent,spectacular and innovative albums of the early 1990s, or ever for that matter. For some reason, this band always ranted about something called the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu which eludes me as of writing this review.

Bloodangel's Cry

I'm not entirely certain why Krypteria seems largely ignored if number of reviews in any indication. This group is right up there sniffing at the heels of the likes of Within Temptation, Epica, and Nightwish. The singer isn't what I would call powerful, but she can certainly carry a tune. There sound might lean a bit towards the pop side, but not too much. I'd recommend this one to any fans of symphonic metal.

Winter's Knight

Before I start on this beautiful album, I have just one question.
Why, oh why does everyone listen to the overplayed Christmas music that you hear in the shopping malls? There has to be a reason why people would like such a thing. It's sad to listen to overplayed Christmas music, when you know that there is no substance in any of the songs you hear. Why do people listen to the overplayed Christmas music at the malls, while at the same time, ignoring Nox Arcana's "Winter's Knight" album? That is a veryy sad world we live in.

The Matrix Reloaded

I absolutely love the Zion score and it really gets me going when driving long distances and when I just want to envision that movie sequence in the Matrix Reloaded. As a repeat from the first Matrix movie soundtrack review: Great Movie and Soundtrack! Both the first and second Matrix movies (Matrix and Matrix Reloaded) have the best music complementing the action scenes and invoking memories when listening to the soundtrack. Haven't been too pleased with the Matrix Revelations soundtrack though. Therefore, if you love this trilogy, get at least the first two music CDs to add to the experience. You won't be sorry!

I love Blackmore's Night so I wasn't surprised that this is wonderful CD.
But it isn't for listening in the car. Too relaxing.
