On his new album Last Days at the Lodge, Amos Lee plays it all close to the chest. The melodies sound familiar, the lyrics sound familiar, and it all sounds like Lee is only half-interested in the songs he's singing. Many of the songs just sound tired and old hat. There are some exceptions, and his voice is still magnificent. I personally liked the songs Won't Let Me Go, and Kid, which is simple but inspiring. Overall, however, the album left me wanting more and missing his previous album, Supply and Demand.

I had heard so much about this album before my boyfriend gave it to me to put on my ipod and listen to as he had gotten us tickets to go and see the live version, and this always puts me off - hence I wasn't expecting to love it but basically the reviews which are raving it are all 100% true.
It really is so painful and beautiful and so incredibly personal that it leaves me wondering how Vernon can sing the songs live without weeping. At the gig, he got everyone to sing "what might have been lost" over and over as a 'backing track', which he conducted to reach an amazing crescendo - I was moved to tears. I typically order many things through Amazon but I was disappointed with this offering because there appears to be several versions available. I realize that Amazon is offering the US release, which may not be their fault, but the European versions include so much more. I am not trying to deter money away from Amazon with this post and who knows, maybe Amazon will offer these additional import versions in the near future.

Anyway, there is a Blu-Ray version available along with a DVD (PAL). There is also a (2) DVD version which maybe PAL which includes a (2) audio CD version as well, which is the entire concert and not selected songs from the concert like the US version on only (1) Audio CD.

I think this is the best Incubus CD. "Pardon me" and "The warmth" are their best records ever. Everybody should get this CD and listen to their music. Best band ever!!! Love them! These guys are amazing! Great musicians.

There are some fantastic songs on these cd but there are some repetitious ones that i could live without . I give it 4 stars because the fantastic songs are worth listening , even that this is the most Eric Clapton composition style Steve has written . Buy a used cd so you wount feel so bad that only the first 5 songs are worth it ...
Common Stevie , 2 cds to make one ? . I mean It's about Time and 9 Lives could be a really good one ... I will wait for Comming of Age ...

i warn you, i'm in love with this album so my review might not be objective or even constructive at all...

I discovered the pink floyd with "the wall". I was 15 and i was very curious so i end buying this album without knowing the band at all.
When my father discovered i enjoyed this cd he was very delighted and he showed me his all collection of records: of course "Wish you were here" was his favorite and as soon as i listened to it i was deeply in love with it too.



i think that to listen to this cd you just need to be free of all opinion. to enjoy it you need to be open minded and accept what is strange and new. you must not be afraid to loose you either.

We received our CD right before we left on a road trip. John Denver's love of nature was the perfect background for the beautiful scenery we were seeing each day. We sang right along and enjoyed every minute of the CD.

Was not a fan of his more recent Master of Disaster CD, so I was a little leery of this one. I should not have worried. Hiatt hits a homerun here. Wonderful album.
