Matt's CD jumped out from a listening station. Several tracks jump out. "Wedding Dress" resonates with Matt's passionate vocals on a slower song with a thundering guitar arrangement, "Thought I lost you; Been jealous of the moon for how it moves the waves." The acoustic "Bulletproof Weeks" scores another impassioned vocal, "What happened to feeling cheap radio song? What happened to thinking the world was flat? What happened to that?" "To the Beat of Our Noisy Hearts" has a catchy chorus and a driving instrumental attack with electric guitar and Jason McGerr's punchy drums. Great album. "Singer Songwriter," "Pop Lies," and (the single) "Lost Coastlines" are three of the best songs I've heard this year. There is something so interesting about Will Sheff's song writing style and vocal stylings. I find the "Stand Ins" instrumental tracks sort of awkward. "Blue Tulips" and "Bruce Wayne" are definitely not two of my favorite songs. But all is forgotten because the other songs are so strong and unique. Okkervil River is definitely one of those bands more people should know about...

This is a great DVD, although I wasn't aware of the butchering of The Electric Co, incidentally the best song on Boy and my personal fave.
Too bad - all over royalties?
Anyway, if you're a fan of the Boy album, as I am, and have been waiting for years to see these songs performed live, this is it.
An Cat Dubh, Twilight, A Day Without Me, I Will Follow, Out of Control - all here.
An Cat Dubh - what a phenomenal tune - takes me back to 1980.
Or was it 1979?
Not to mention Party Girl and the great 11 o'clock Tick-Tock.
And The Electric Co still sizzles with The Edge laying down those ending power chords over and over, waiting for Bono to get back on stage and finish the song proper.

First of all, this is a painfully boring cd. I love his first 2 cds and listen to them all the time but this one is just not all that great. When I saw this album online, it lists "Say" as the last song. My wife bought me the 2 cd set but it didn't have Say on it so I returned it to the store and traded for the cd with the darker cover. It didn't list Say either but I thought maybe it was a hidden track. Well, it's not on there. Why is "Say" listed as one of the songs on the cd when you research it on Amazon, Best Buy, or even JM's website but when you buy the cd, "Say" isn't on it? Are there in fact THREE versions of this crappy cd?

Oasis' 7th album shows the lads starting to return to Morning glory days. It is loud, exciting and thoughtful. They have gotten away from the past albums and moved back to what made them famous, great rock music. It takes a few listens to appreciate the music but worth the money!
