While it's true that the vocals are a bit buried in the mix, what I miss the most are a good, solid set of "real" acoustic drums, played by a "real" drummer. That fact alone would have made this album a 4 and a half star for me. Having said that, there are no bad throwaway songs here and some excellent ones to lift it well above average. The past LIARS album, while good in some ways, did not wear well with me over time. It was too tedious and underhandedly bitter. ARENA still tackles some serious subjects like LIARS, but with a more hopeful, bright rock 'n roll edge. Natalie Cole continues to be one of my favorite artists. She is an amazing talent, with an amazingly clear voice and pitch, and her choice of material has always been impeccable. I was looking forward to this new album of standards, since I was such a fan of her other "Unforgettable' album. This album, as well, is well-put-together, and is pleasing to listen to. But, I have two problems with this album--one is in the engineering, particularly of the tracks with big band backgrounds. If the effect of same is supposed to be that Natalie is singing in front of a big band, it doesn't sound like it is, since, for some reason, the band sounds canned. I realize that the way records are done is where a singer sings her tracks separate from the band, but they're supposed ... Read More:

I really love this album. I think vocally Miley sounds so much better on breakout. I am 24 years old and I really enjoy Miley's music. What i would really love is for Miley to do a country album as that would sound so wonderful as Mileys voice truly shines when she sings country with her Dad

ABBA - Gold: Greatest Hits

After seeing the movie Mama Mia, I had to get the ABBA greatest hits CD. I wasn't disappointed. The movie was great, but the original songs, sung by the originals, ABBA, was wonderful.
