While Ottmar's playing is not flamenco guitar, I play flamenco guitar and I love Ottmar's playing. I believe that La Luna, for example, is a well composed piece of music. I am tired of the bickering between traditional and non-traditional flamenco stylists, just as I am weary of the bickering between traditional bluegrass and "new-grass" players. In the end it is about the music. Liebert has a wide audience while many traditional flamenco musicians could not get an audience if they paid for one.

That said, one can argue all day about compas, duende, flamenco guitars made in Spain versus Ottmar's clearly wonderful DeVoe and Ottmar's audience will still follow him. Are they stupid because they do not follow the duende or passion ... Read More:

I just worship and cry listening to this CD. The intimate poetry of its lyrics, along with the beautiful melodies and arrangements, and Romero's honest, no frills voice, make this CD truly blessed. If you don't understand Spanish, it's beautiful. If you do understand, it's anointed. You won't regret buying it.

Que puedo decir. Yo soy un hombre del siglo 21 y espero que la musica grabada en el 2008 refleje eso. Se tomaron cero riesgos cuando grabaron este album. Nada en la musicalidad, nada en las liricas, absolutamente nada.

La ultima cancion, "La Cocaleca" la unica que no es salsa, suena como algo que se escucharia en una discoteca hace 12 an~os, y no hoy en dia. Pense que "Yo me siento como en casa", que habla de Puerto Rico fue interesante, no solo porque soy de Puerto Rico, pero tambien porque incluyeron un cuatro. Yo no se si se grabo el album completo en PR, pero los nombres de musicos que reconoci son de PR, asi que no me sorprenderia. For a really enjoyable Mexican/Latin musical experience try this out. A simpatico and lively concert in Madrid, the remarkable Solis on top form, complete with salsa dancers and graced by a stunning duet sung by Solis and Spain's's musical heroine of the 80s Rocio Durcal. Very good value since it comes as a DVD/CD set. Impeccable. It would be great if Solis were to devote a whole CD to purely Mexican music.

The DVD is a registration of a series of concerts of Mana in the years 2002 and 2003. The concerts are great and there is a lot of effort put in the whole production. Unfortunately the DVD covers only ten songs and a lot of extra's we don't need. The English subtitles are simply crappy. The producers of this DVD surely embarrass the band, which put up such an amazing concert.

This CD defintely showcases the talent and versatility of Arturo Sandoval. He is one great trumpet maestro. Considering that Maynard Ferguson, Dizzie Gillespie, and other trumpet masters have heaped praises on Sandoval, what more can I say?
