Ever since I read a synopsis of her life and music career in the newspaper a year ago, I was intrigued. I went to see her in a small local theater, and since then I was hooked. She mixes African and Spanish rythms with jazz and Latin beats to create an amazing sound. Her voice is captivating and penetrating. She portrays herself through her music.

The love of music this band give to us, the listeners, cant be paid for by money. This is music that embrases all the good things in life.
I feel so clumsy with words trying to explain how this music makes me feel. Laughter and tears comes out at the same time.

Bueno...y yo sigo comprando discos de Ricardo Arjona, con la esperanza que este señor de impecable voz algun dia se digne a escribir una cancion que finalmente lo ponga a la altura de quien trata de imitar: Joaquin Sabina, Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes, Serrat, etc. Arjona, una vez mas, se vuelve a repetir: las mismas metaforas y similes burdos y no pulidos, la misma musiquita de otros discos anteriores, tan parecidos que por ejemplo la musica de "La bailarina vecina", pudiese ser la de "buenas noches don David", Sin ti, sin mi, pudiese ser cualquier cancion en cualquier disco anterior, Nadie sabe adonde va, se me parece mucho a si "el norte fuera el sur" en la manera de escribir,aunque al final tiene un destello de inteligencia con eso de ... While there have been acts that have been more about hyppe, and less of heart and soul like Jennifer Lopez, who hasn't really been a credible singer lately, or Ricky Martin, who hasn't really made an English pop album in years who just made everyone say they were Livin' La Vida Loca so much, others made it because of their family bonds. This is an exceptionally well put together album. The title song, Primavera anticipada bounces forward enthusiastically. The final track, Hermana tierra, has the best of what you'd expect in a song for Sister (!) Earth, a little bit new age without becoming hokey. The angry Mis beneficios could be plunked in the middle of a rock opera where the heroine throws her no-good boyfriend out on his ear, while the equally cross La impresión starts out soft and sad, winds up into a rock anthem before reverting to the soft, resigned tones of the opening. Finally, Más que ayer is just plain fun with its acoustic guitar, wavering strings and tinkling piano. And yes, there are a few other songs.
