Elisa has a wonderful voice and fabulous potential. The song "dancing" is a great example of her talent, but the album as a whole is still missing something.
Granted, not all songs are expected to be as great as "dancing", but there is a dull redundancy in this album's collection. I hope this talent will be nurtured more and perhaps gets a bit luckier in the future.

I love Putumayo, and this CD continues that tradition. My only wish is that Putomayo would put more minutes of music on each CD...
Release Date September 28, 2004
I have bought this CD along with 'undia normal' after listening Juanes on PBS's Austin City Limits. I love two songs from this album especially: la camisa negra and damelo. There are few other great tracks as well, but overal I enjoyed more the'undia normal' CD. You can buy the tracks you like separately, but I wanted to have the CDs in my collection. This album, as a whole could be better, but I don't regret getting it as these CDs make a great beach or party companion.

From the fist few notes of Om Namo Bhagavate, I immediatly fell in love with Devas' music. Her voice is heavenly and no matter how my day has been or where I am in life, when I play this cd I instantly feel at peace. If you want a beautiful cd to relax to and that truely helps center you, mind, body, and soul.... then I would highly recommend this cd as well as all of her others.

A friend played this CD for me on my last visit to Paris and I now associate Paris with Bebel's Tanto Tempo CD...even though she's Brazilian and the music is not Parisian. It just fit the time and place. You don't have to understand a word of what she's singing to understand what she's saying. I know nothing about Bossa Nova or Brazilian music but I got what she was portraying in these soulful and emotive songs. Just incredible and can put you in such a great positive mood! A must have for your collection if you are open to varied music tastes.

Want to know what the world was like in 1963, in San Francisco, on sunny afternoons, when all the windows were open on a garden from a small apartment high on the Ashbury Street Hill where Anne and Stan Rice lived and wrote? --- Before the Flower Children came. ---- Then listen to this classic album, the album that defined "jazz" for me more than bossa nova. It was an album that made me want to flee the foggy streets of San Francisco, put on khaki clothes and drift south. It took me well over twenty years to get to Brazil, and the tunes were no longer in my head. Don't know who Stan and Anne are? No surprise. --- They were young writers, dreamers and students. ---- Just wanted to make this review a little reflective of what those moments were like, ... Read More:

This CD of music and singing of IZ, a very famous Hawaiian singer is priceless. I now own two others, but this is still my favorite (maybe because it was my first exposure to this artist.) His voice is so soothing, so spiritual, so uplifting. It makes you feel better if you are stressed. Unfortunately, he is deceased (at a young age), and we have only his recordings to enjoy.

The SACD remastered by MFSL is amazing. In fact, after receiving this disc I promptly went Into The Labyrinth where I'm still lost to this day. Luckily it has WiFi and I have a laptop with a body motion charger so I can still write reviews. Although it will be tough to give Amazon my address when ordering from now on. Of course I'm probably gonna die of starvation anyway. Bummer.

This 1971 album was the first of the all-star benefit albums. And arguably the best. In a nut shell, George Harrison, fresh off his success with "All Things Must Pass" raised his profile even further when he joined with Indian sitar master Ravi Shankar for 2 benefit shows at Madison Square Garden. At the time, Bangladesh was ½ a world away and largely unknown and forgotten by Americans and the rest of the world for that matter. Plus it had been born out of a war between religions and torn apart even further by devastating floods. George's idea was simple; gather as many musician friends as he could for a concert and maybe raise some money to aid the citizens of the emerging nation of Bangladesh. But even with his high profile, George was uncertain the shows would even ... Read More:

It's certainly inventive. It sounds like a combination of Asian/Scifi/Dance, sometimes all in one song. Which results in some good songs and some that's just noise. I've never seen the production that this is based, though I'd like to. I did grow up knowing about the story of the Journey to the West and also like Gorillaz so I was really interested in hearing this. It takes some time for it to grow on to you and the more I listen to it the more I like it.
However, I still really can't stand "Confessions of a Pig". It sounds like Zhu Bajie (Pigsy) just grunts in beat. At least that's what it sounds like, I can't make out any words. On the flip side, I really like "Monkey Bee". The music resembles "Clint Eastwood" in the middle and the Sun Wu Kong's (Monkey's) ... Read More:
