I purchased 3 CD's at the same time of Steel Drum music. This one has a wonderful variety of artists and styles, so it provides a great taste of the Caribbean Islands. Carnival Steel Drum Collection No. 7 works well with this one as a great party music source. The music will get you dancing, and stimulate your guests with the spirit of Jamaica, Trinadad, Tobago, and Cuba.

!975.. I was living in London and saw 2 amazing gigs that year.. Bruce Springsteen.. Yes that gig. The DVD reminds of a very younger Bruce and an even younger me..
I also caught Bob and the mighty Wailers on the second night of a 3 gig series at the Lyceum. It was Thursday if I remember rightly and the support was Third World.. I'm not sure which night this record comes from.
The set was quite short, round about an hour and 20 minutes. It seemed to be over in a flash but remains possibly one of the best gigs I've ever caught.
I had this on vinyl and must upgrade soon.
A truly wonderful performance from reggae's greatest star..

This CD defintely showcases the talent and versatility of Arturo Sandoval. He is one great trumpet maestro. Considering that Maynard Ferguson, Dizzie Gillespie, and other trumpet masters have heaped praises on Sandoval, what more can I say?

I've never really heard a Marley album I didn't like, but this is arguably the best of the bunch. Classic hits abound, including my favorite Bob Marley song, the heartbreaking ballad "Waiting in Vain"; the message oriented space-reggae title track; "Jammin'", with a fantastic groove, unforgettable chorus, and unbeatable atmosphere; and the feel-good instant-smile dynamic duo closers "Three Little Birds" and the Curtis Mayfield quoting "One Love/People Get Ready". If you haven't heard these five tracks, I don't know where you've been, but you owe it to yourself to listen to them.
But how's the rest? About as good, surprisingly. Of the leftovers, my favorite is the sensual slow jam "Turn Your Lights Down Low", an underrated song that really deserves ... Read More:

I recently started getting into the Putumayo series after I heard the Paris compilation. I was immediately hooked and now have started checking out the other cds in the series. MUSIC FROM THE COFFEE LANDS is my latest acquisition. While MUSIC FROM THE COFFEE LANDS may not be my favorite compilation, I certainly enjoyed listening to its international flavor. Most of the songs are latin based but there are a track here and there that are African and even Hawaiian. As I sit here typing my review while drinking a cup of joe and listening to this cd, I am imaging myself in a field picking coffee beans. I find the music very soothing tp the human soul. I definitely agree with one reviewer who questioned why there isn't any music from Ethiopia featured on the compilation ... Read More:

If you're a fan of bass heavy jazz, this disc won't disappoint. Especially excellent are tracks 3 and 7, but the whole disc is a masterpiece.

Great product...really helped my son through his teething. Not sure if it has "healing" powers or is just fun for him to put in his mouth....

How can a presumed greatest hits (essential collection) end up with two of Harry's biggest and most famous
songs being included as LIVE versions? What has happen with bona fide song selections? The studio versions
are what everyone heard in the 1950's and remember best (by ear). Apparently, RCA's CD producers for older
artists have no idea what they are doing. I guess it'll get even worse as we get older and the producers get younger. A good "essential collection" can only be GOOD if it passes the "by ear" test. If you were not around
in the 50s listening to the originals you have no idea which track to put on the CDs. RCA has entered this stage.
And if Harry really did select these songs he should KNOW better!!! I would not have this in my collection ... Read More:
