I ordered this item for my sister who just loves the Forrest Gump movie. She was looking around for the soundtrack because she enjoyed the music in the movie alot. She was very pleased with this item.

Alison's perfect and soft voice is exceptional! My favorite song on this album is "When You Say Nothing at All" so there was no hesitation in chosing this song for our wedding. As I walked down the aisle to start our beautiful poolside country wedding, Alison's perfect voice (in surroundsound) floated across the wedding guests, into lush green pasture and seemed to impact even the horses (or maybe the horses were just looking for their dinner). When I reached the rose-adorned wedding arch, I turned to see just about everyone with tears running down their cheeks - Alison's performance of this song really brought out the emotion in everyone. Even the big ol' cowboys were doing their best to choke back their emotions. Followed the perfect ceremony ... Read More:

The Weepies follow "Say I Am You" (one of the best albums of 2006) with "Hideaway." It continues the duo's trademark sound--hushed, ethereal vocals, lyrics that use metaphor and analogy to reference a wide range of topics, and understated, gorgeous production. The music is acoustic-based with deft touches of electric guitar scattered throughout. There's even a surprising little pop-rocker at the end. "All This Beauty" is a great kicker to a polished, heartfelt project. If you like groups like the Kennedys, you will swoon for the Weepies and "Hideaway."

My mother had been looking a particular song for my father. She mentioned it to me in a call prior to Father's Day this year. I told her to just give me a second and I found it on Amazon.com quickly and easily. She said that my father loves it and listens to it every time they get in the truck. Thanks...

Halfway between Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush, she finally found the way to demonstrate how good she is. Almost as good as brother and mum.

"Greatest hits" collections, especially of an artist as prolific as Judy Collins, are risky things. This is particularly true in her case since her style has varied so much with the years. Still, this compilation includes most of what I regard as the high points among her many albums, and several iconic tracks: I would certainly place her versions of Pete Seeger's "Turn, Turn, Turn," Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne," and Ian Tyson's "Someday Soon" in this category. "Both Sides Now," one of her biggest radio hits, sounds a bit dated now with its late 60s mix of rock drumming and symphony strings; still, Collins' voice is at its smoothest here and her sincerity is hard to resist, as is also the case with her elaborately produced versions of the traditional "Amazing Grace" and "Farewell ... ok, I'm editing this review because I feel bad giving them such a hard time. About five songs are really good. The rest was just weepy without being very interesting.
Compared to other bands it's an ok album, just not nearly as good as "Four Thieves Gone" and "Mignonette". They loose a lot of their raw edge and punk-y-ness. Sentimental gives way to sappy here. There is nothing gripping in the sound here either.
What happened to those bluegrass-y punks that screamed and yelled through their songs and made me feel like I was drinkin' in the back of a truck, driving in the country while my friends (and I) rock on guitars and banjos?
I don't even want to play this one for friends - I used to show off the Avett Bros. coolness before.

This is an absolutely incredible collection that anyone who even remotely likes Bob Dylan should own. I purchased it brand new and it came in wrapping, but it consistently skips on one song at the same place. I noticed slight gouges in the CD.

When I was young, this album had an enormous impact on my life. While enduring a love affair gone horribly wrong, somehow these songs gave me comfort, strength, and inspired me to simply endure what felt like the end of the world. Oh, I ate and ate and ate, until I could not eat another plate. Have I had enough my Lord? Far from being the music of suicides, I think this album helped me to avoid the noose. I think it was through Cohen that I discovered the tradition depicted by St John of the Cross in "The Dark Night of the Soul". Loss, pain, and suffering puts one's character into a crucible. Spiritual evolution is a roller coaster. One discovers that the soul has a life of its own, and sometimes must shed it's skin if it is to grow, in it's own serpentine fashion.(When your life is a leaf that ... Read More:
