I've been a Beatlemaniac ever since I was thirteen years old. I can still remember the first time I heard the Fab Four: I had just woken up, and I could hear the radio in the kitchen, where my mom was doing whatever moms did in kitchens in 1964. "Holy smoke," I thought. "I've never heard anything like this before!" The song I was listening to was "I Want to Hold Your Hand." Popular music, of course, would never be the same; and neither would I.
Over the years, a few other musical artists appeared whom I have consistently held in very high regard--Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello--though none ever quite reached the pinnacle of my personal hierarchy where the Beatles had always rested. It got to the point where I was sure ... Read More:

I will always remember and thank my beloved brother, Thomas John Greene, who introduced me to Eva Cassidy some years ago. This is a beautiful album of her music (they all are). How can I not think of you, Tom, as I listen to Imagine... God bless your sweet soul (and Eva's too). Miss you. Love, Eileen
Release Date July 29, 2008
I have not heard of Richie Havens in years and was glad to see that he was still making music. I've always loved his voice and words and was not disappointed in his new CD.
Release Date February 10, 2004
Like hearing the old-time bluegrass with a contemporary spin. I think they target younger audiences but older folks may enjoy - just tune out the drug parts.
Release Date July 08, 2008
I was not sure I would like this album at first, as I am an old fart, but after listening to clips on Amazon, I decided to try it. It was good enough that now, every time I get into my car, this is the CD that is playing. It is good music and brings back a lot of memories. Espeically like the songs about Curt Flood and Harvey Haddix

Released the year I was born, 1963, "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" became the album which best represents a turbulent time in America. Put this cd on, for those of us who spent at least a part of our lives in those stormy years, the album evokes a lot of memories, and a lot of feelings, particularly about the America we could've become before Kennedy fell, before Viet Nam, before King fell, before we lost our innocense.
The first track "Blowin' in the Wind" became the anthem of the day, redone and popularized by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Yet the original carries such weight that did not carry over. "Girl from the North Country" is a peaceful sort of ballad, whose lyrics will remind you just briefly of "Scarborough Fair". Here we have ... Read More:

I ordered this item for my sister who just loves the Forrest Gump movie. She was looking around for the soundtrack because she enjoyed the music in the movie alot. She was very pleased with this item.
Release Date November 21, 2006
I've had this album for over a year and played it over and over. Took it places with me, and now I find the case is empty. Must have left it somewhere. Checked high and low. May be in a friend's car somewhere. I can't wait any longer, so I'm going to buy it again.
My 20-something son thinks I'm nuts to buy CDs at all, but what can I say . . . at least I've dumped all of my casettes. This is one of those albums you can listen to all the way through, every song, and not want to skip ahead over the three or four you don't like. It's even, thoroughly enjoyable listening music. And every now and again it gets me up dancing.
You won't regret buying this jewel. Can't wait for his new one coming in October.
Release Date August 19, 2008
Just another folk singer, nothing special here. The album is poorly recorded and mixed and in some places poorly produced. Might have been OK with just a guitar accompaniment, but the nasal vocals don't move me.
I honestly can't understand all the hype over this girl, when you can hear similar music just as good for free in front of every wannabe hipster coffee house in the country.

Halfway between Stevie Nicks and Kate Bush, she finally found the way to demonstrate how good she is. Almost as good as brother and mum.
